Pfizer COVID vaccine in Dallas

Does anyone know if the Pfizer brand of covid vaccine is available? So far I've only found the Moderna variation.
fueledbytisane@reddit
May I ask why specifically the Pfizer version? I'm scheduled to get the Moderna version tomorrow and just want to know if there's a difference in efficacy or side effects I should be aware of.

Not OP, but I had worse side effects from Moderna. I switched the Pfizer the past couple of years and the side effects were minimal for me.

Thank you for replying! I've had both and they both knock me on my ass. I kind of just plan for my whole weekend to be a write off any time I get my booster. So it doesn't matter to me which one I get as long as it works properly.

The very first time I got my vaccine, the pharmacist recommended that I chug a pedialite right after. And then to drink another one in the next 24 hours. The only side effect I had was sore arm. I would always do that when getting boosters, except for one time and that time it knocked me out. Highly recommend doing this, hopefully it’ll help

Great tip! Bit late for this year as it's already been 12 hours since I got my vaccine, but so far all I've got is a sore arm. Drank 96 oz of water today, so here's hoping it stays that way!

I’m sorry it’s so rough for you! Yeah this year I was grateful just to be able to get one and picking the brand was a bonus.
fueledbytisane@reddit
Yeah, they've always been tough on me. But I'm grateful for my boosters even so. I have asthma, so feeling crappy for a weekend once a year is worth it to me to significantly lower my risk.

Did you get the Comirnaty one or the generic Pfizer one?
consider-the-lobster@reddit
It was the Comirnaty.

CVS app shows which locations have which vaccines and you can book your appointment at the location of your choice
arlenroy@reddit
That's what I did, I have a couple of prescriptions that I have filled at CVS, so I naturally have the app. It immediately pops up when you select your store, what vaccines they have available. Great tool.
FriendlySeekerSarah@reddit
Agreed. Couldn’t be easier in my opinion. Just got mine during my lunch break on Thursday. In and out and back to regular life.
Mindless_Necessary42@reddit
Just got the pfizer vaccine at the oaklawn kroger pharmacy today
Professional_Can6254@reddit
Are you "at severe risk?" I tried signing up for one at my local CVS but it said I'm not eligible. When I clicked "Yes I'm at severe risk" then it let me through to the next screen.
ArmWarm8743@reddit
I’m also wondering how they are handling the “severe risk” requirement.
Professional_Can6254@reddit
Well RFK, Jr. and his anti-vax cabal have said they're limiting the COVID vaccine to people 65+ years old and people with severe risk of illness if they get infected. Some states are ignoring this, other states are complying, and it even varies from pharmacy to pharmacy. They're making it intentionally confusing because they don't want people to get vaccinated.
FriendlySeekerSarah@reddit
Tell them you’re at severe risk; that’s it. You get the vaccine for free.
If you tell them you’re not at severe risk, you still get it but have to pay for it.
PseudonymIncognito@reddit
Relying on the honesty of the patient/customer. Also remember that being overweight or being sedentary counts as being at "severe risk". Estimate are that something like 3/4 of adults in the US technically qualify under CDC criteria.
DJJAZZYJAZZ@reddit
Tom Thumb on Hampton has Pfizer. Was just there today.
Pillowwick@reddit
People are still doing this?

I was able to get Pfizer at Walgreens. Using the app you could filter by brand and select an appointment location based on that preference.

I want to hear from somebody who actually got it in their arm. I was told by 2 pharmacies that they’re waiting on the new batch arriving this week. And as a subtext, they’re waiting on the new recommendations. Please tell me where healthy adults and children can get it, if possible. Thank you.

I tried to book mine through CVS and was told I was ineligible…
