The west senses Ukraine is shaky. Russia is just restating its long-held positions.
The comical thing I've seen is that the west may be tempted to do a "no fly zone" idea and inject NATO aircraft into the war. IMO that would be "interesting" -- to see just how well NATO's "advanced" aircraft would hold up against Russian air defense systems. It could go well, or NATO could be in for a "rude awakening."

NATO has long admitted it cannot operate in Russian AD/A2 bubbles.
Russian air defense systems were built without imagining stealth so they refuse to pretend some planes are not seen the way Lockheed Martin sales people bullshit to buyers while selling them both the air defense systems and the supposedly invisible planes.
US took F-22s out of Syria as soon as Russia brought in S-350 systems. And Zionazis would only launch missiles from their F-35s while hiding behind civilian air craft because they knew even the S-300 systems easily tracked them.
