Small Farm Shops

Does anyone have any recommendations for small farm shops in the local area?
I've recently been going to Cranley Barn Farm Shop near Thornton, and I've really been enjoying the fresh produce, and supporting small business and local farmers. They have the best cucumbers, tomato's, sourdough, raw honey and meat. Their pork and marmite sausages are to die for.
I would really like to try some other small-scale farm shops in the area as well to see what other local produce is available, and to support other local farmers.

Not a small farm shop as such, but the food hall at Frost's garden centre in Woburn Sands has an independent butcher and greengrocer. Good (though very expensive) bread and cakes, which I think are local too.

I've been meaning to go to Frosts for years. One of my colleagues recently said it was no.linher independent and had been taken over by a garden centre chain though, so that's put me off recently. But I bet it's still worth a go to.

The garden centre is no longer independent, but I don't go for that anyway (very expensive!). As far as I know, the butcher and greengrocer are still independent (they were never part of Frosts to begin with)

Thanks for recommending the food market at Frosts! Went there today and got myself a lovely haul of fresh veg and meat and treated myself to some of my favourite cider. Only came to £32.99 in total, which i thought was quite reasonable for the amount I got.

No problem. Glad I could help

I really like Hunters Farm Shop at the Woburn end of the A5. Also, the Online Greengrocers stall in CMK Market are great quality for veg, obvs not a farm shop though

I can't believe how many times I've been to that Shell garage of the A5 and not noticed the farmshop next door. Thank you! That's a nice, easy one to get to as well.

They do really nice smoked garlic there

Haha how blind we can be to things we're not actively looking for.
They have a weird mix of lovely things. Early spring and summer they have loads of lovely plants and their fruit and veg is generally great. It's not always stocked, but they have a fridge which usually has gorgeous pies and meat from Best Butchers. Try the black treacle bacon if you can!

I tried this place today! Excellent shop, thanks for recommending. Got a huge bag of veggies for about £6 and a jar of local honey for another £6. Almost got tempted by some of their flower pots as they were beautiful and half price but im moving house soon so will buy after the move instead!

Might be a bit of a trek for you, and I'm almost loath to suggest it lest it becomes even more popular but Meads between Ivinghoe and Tring is a delight. Great locally reared meat, produce is fantastic plus it does some animal feeds/livery bits plus fuel/coal and the like. Also a gin distillery and a restaurant on-site.

Bourton Manor Farm in Buckingham has a butcher’s shop, deli and excellent cafe, and 100m down the road there is a cut flower farm too that does PYO on certain days or sells premade bunches.

Is that where the Larder Cafe is? I went to the Larder Cafe for the first time a couple of weeks ago, but the adjacent shop was closed.

In fact I used the deli there for the cheese for the evening food at my wedding and the flower farm for the flowers if that tells you how highly I rate them!

I love Mursley Farm Shop - their ice cream is out of this world!

I've heard good things about this place and their ice cream. I definitely need to give it a go! We pass it on our rare trips to Aylesbury, but we've never stopped there.

I always enjoy a trip out to Pecks Farm Shop - on the way to Leighton Buzzard so it's a little out of town, but good nonetheless.
