Why is Mcdonald's so slow?

Standing in an extremely common que in McDonald's since the world went mad 2 years ago, noticing every other 40 something like myself, looking around in disbelief, wondering how McDonald's has managed to go from a fast food experience, to an extremely slow, painful torture. I have a few theories, • Are burgers now made to order to reduce waste, ultimately becoming the slowest item to make on the menu? • Did McDonald's strike a deal with the delivery companies so deep, that they cannot keep up with demand from them services, and are simply not big enought to cope? •. Have the kitchen staff, management methods, incentives decreased causing a lack of desire to be fast and prompt? •. Has the removal of the premade burger display behind the counter increased the wait times and forced a first come first served waiting scenario?
