Help identifying tooth

Hey I just received this tooth from a personal friend & he claimed it was an eroded sperm whale tooth, I’m wanting to know if there’s any way I can check if it’s legit?

If it is it's really small, but that doesn't discount that it might be a piece of tooth that has been coloured and so on. Head on over to r/bonecollecting and the people there are really great at ID's :)

I second this

Hi! I found you in the wild! How are you?
Addicted-2Diving@reddit
Very good thank you for asking. Yourself?
I have to admit. The “found you in the wild” made me chuckle a bit

Good it can be scary out in the world! D:
What kind of diving do you do?
Addicted-2Diving@reddit
I am a an Advanced Open Water diver, (AOW), but really all that means is I took a test and did some dives, with a seasoned dive professional, so that I could go down to 100ft. The scuba certs get more intense/dangerous when you go to trimix and eventually tech. But those are well out of my budget for the time being.
The last one, tech diving, one can go as deep as 300ft and deeper with the right gear.

I think diving deeper than 10 or 20 feet would give me a migraine but I really want to swim with humpbacks and mantas and whale sharks one day, but I've only snorkeled

I grew up free diving, so maybe I’ve gotten used to equalizing my ears?
If you have trouble clearing, is what we call it, then scuba might be a better bet, since you can slowly descend, unlike free diving/snorkeling, unless of course you have a good breath hold.
If you really would love to dove with humpbacks and you cannot equalize well, I suggest trying it out in a pool, more controlled environment and you know the depth.
Since that’s a bucket list dive for me as well, I would t hesitate to visit an ENT, if my sinuses was bothering me, as it very well could be something, if all else fails.
I hope you get to cross that for your bucket list.
Family friend of ours did Fiji about 2 decades ago, and speaking about how effortlessly the mantas swam was incredible to hear.

Ok I will search for this humpback pool! I will try Monterey Bay Aquarium in 1986! (Star Trek IV hehe)
ENTs can't help me I have a broken skull with metal holding it together, I need a neurologist with old fashioned beliefs about pain meds lol
Bonus: Wire reinforcement
Negative: Ouchie

Sorry to hear that. Ps- I might have mistyped, I meant trying to equalize in a pool.
Now aquariums that have whales are not all that common, but imho, I would rather flair in the oceans surface and see them in their natural habitat

It was the only instance I could think of where there were humpbacks in a tank but fortunately they were movie robots :D
Addicted-2Diving@reddit
Where was this? First I’m hearing of movie robot whales

Like I said above,
"Ok I will search for this humpback pool! I will try Monterey Bay Aquarium in 1986! (Star Trek IV hehe)" :) Sorry didn't realize I was unclear

Thanks for the name. I had no clue that this placed existed. It is now added to my ever growing bucket list

Monterey Bay Aquarium is great! Also if you are in the area, go to see the giant redwoods at Muir Woods and the Winchester House :D

The red wood forest is on my bucket list. They are so massive, it’s hard to comprehend

It's amazing there, if you can go early on a weekday so there aren't as many others around :)
Addicted-2Diving@reddit
As in, as soon as it opens? Daybreak?
TesseractToo@reddit
Um when I went it was maybe 11 am but more because I was driving there from Berkeley and had some other things to do
I found this for you :)
