Is the hatch off center or something? She looks beamy as hell in that photo but my brain still can't make the original photo work. I'm sitting in a boat with an 11 ft beam right this moment and I swear it looks like half the space you have.
It's distorted because I used the fish-eye lens on the camera. The companionway opening is on the centerline. The steps do trail down to starboard, though.
ah right, I looked up the HC boat and I saw a few with off-center companionway openings, so I assumed this one has it too. The angled steps threw me off. It still looks rather spacious, despite the fisheye lens.
It's one of my least favorite features of the boat. The steps are storage bins that open from the top, and the bottom two steps are separate from the topmost step. They are all held in place with pins and latches and definitely aren't the most confidence-inspiring setup. Both have to be moved to get engine access, and in a bad seaway it would really be a PITA to deal with trying to secure them and work on the engine. That said, there are seemingly infinite hand-holds on this boat that help getting around.
what an awesome cabin layout too. I’ll bet that galley is awesome. Is it a catboat or something? It seems really beamy and like there should be a bulkhead somewhere

That perspective makes her look a lot wider than she is.

Oh, she is still plenty thick

No, the companionway is on the centerline. I think the fisheye lens distorts it. She is still beamy for her size, but not quite 12' of beam.

OMFG. Boatwright mastery

Very interesting layout with the entrance being off-center. I don’t know these boats very well but they look gorgeous. How do they sail?

Maybe it's just the perspective, but the companionway stairs seem really scary in a seaway.
Francis_Dollar_Hide@reddit
Those aren't stairs, it's a climbing wall!

Dehumidifier, but I do have a similar set-up for AC that works well.

Probably dehumidifier draining into the sink. No idea though.
