My girlfriend and I plan on flying from Indianapolis IN to Sacramento CA 6/30/26 - 7/8/26 and flying back. I read from several places that buying tickets three months in advance rather than too early or too late is the sweet spot for pricing. Is this true?

Depends on lotsa factors. You might start by seeing what Google Flights is showing for your dates. You could also let Hopper do that. (Hopper watches trends)
In general, buy your tickets yesterday.

You can also track the flights on Google flights too if you're interested.

As a general rule of thumb yes, three months is usually the best time to find tickets but other factors do come into play such as routes, seasons, etc and it is always better to cross-check where you can.
