Happy birthday to this beautiful show, 30 years since Xena came into our lives ❤️...in my country (Italy) it aired on a network for young people around 6pm (late afternoon after the cartoons) I remember that I started watching it when I was a child and I never started even as an adult I continued to watch the reruns every now and then..I love everyone about Xena and its protagonists, Lucy was beautiful, a goddess... and above all she was very good...for years I hoped for a reboot but it never happened...but I am truly grateful for this spectacular show that has remained in my heart
I had JUST turned 14, as in literally the day before. Technically I didn't start watching until the second episode, but I've been active in the fandom since (almost) the very beginning.
No, no, it's not age per se, but from spending so much time watching eps/reading fanfic --which in fact has helped keep you young! That's my rationale for creaky joints, and I'm sticking to it. 😂
Well true. All that time sitting reading fics did a number on my back. Carrying the femslash genre for the first decades surely didn’t do anything for my core strength lol lol
I was only 7 when Xena came out. Dang! I wonder if I watched it when it first came out. I think I did and my mom hated the fact but she couldn't get me away from it. But I didn't learn until later that I was too young to be watching it, lol. Yeah, you think with my in immaturity and thinking it was real. My mom had me stop watching it for awhile. Now, I have it on DVD so I don't have to worry about anyone fussing about my age either.
Lol I thought it was yesterday because Prime lists Ep 1 as September 3rd and I was wondering why this sub was so quiet for such a big anniversary!
I’m on S3 of my first ever full watch and I’m having so much fun getting reacquainted with one of my childhood heroes. I was a little girl with long dark hair, blunt bangs, and a bad attitude so Xena immediately captured my heart. Now I’m looking back and it’s easy to see what was so enthralling about the show to me back then and I can appreciate details I was never old enough to notice before.
I don't know, I'm a millennial too. For me.... 1995, that was... 5 years ago, right?? Heh... (and the 1970s will always be 30 years ago, that's just when they were... and no, I don't need anyone helpful telling me how long it actually was.... :D)

Before I even got to see an episode I was so excited by the concept that I named a D&D character after her (quarter-storm giant Amazon).

Weird, Xena is as old as Andy Griffith was when we were kids.
