Carry around puffed up batteries as kindling

If you’re a fan of r/spicypillows then you’re probably already familiar with the dangers of puffed up, swollen batteries and the fire hazard contained within.
So carry them around in your backpack when going camping! Use it to start your campfire! Nothing can possibly go wrong.

OP is correct, they do make excellent kindling!
Haters will say they're too good at catching on fire, but who doesn't love suprises?

Actually non puffy batteries work for this too, just drive a nail through them and you have a fire starter.

Ain't any way in hell I'm eating anything cooked on that fire. Just using it to keep warm is sketchy enough.

Oh nothing can possibly go wrong :)
Alone in the woods with dubious chemical fire, nothing can go wrong.

This is a good wisdom

If you're ever used a battery fire to keep warm you may be entitled to compensation. Contact Samuel Shister Law to see if you qualify.

Better than using a nuclear battery to keep warm.

It's cheap, easy, and free!

Let me think about this and get back to you.

LPT:
The little wires in headphones are easy to short with a battery to start a fire.

This would work really well for kindling. And the contents of your backpack and perhaps your clothes would be the fuel.

When you're the campfire, everywhere is a camping ground!

I smelt this for the first time on Tuesday. An 18650 cell shorted out in my garage, the place was filled with thick smoke. I never, ever, want to smell that again. It was like heavy metal poisoning is a high school bully with a death wish and you just ate his lunch right in front of him. It was metallic, thick, burnt, and acrid all at once. I never, ever, want to smell that again.

One time I worked in a shop and a couple drove their car in and told us that they turned it on, it started to smoke a little and smelled funny.
Their battery had about a 2” hole where the side blew out and was pouring out smoke. How they made it, idk, but yeah. That smell is something that stays with you
