where do you buy a mainsail cover?

Hello! I bought a boat that was missing its mainsail cover. The guy who had it before me was using a tarp but that is annoying and looks terrible. I just received a cover from west marine and it's terrible - it has grommets but no way to attach them to each other, it fits terribly, and it's annoying to attach to the mast.
I'd like to order a better one, it looks like I can get one custom made for my boat from sailboatowners.com, and from etsy people, as well as more non-custom ones from various sketchy websites. This thread: https://forums.sailboatowners.com/threads/best-place-to-get-a-mainsail-cover.180431/ very amusingly recommends the website that is hosting it 14 times or something. Does anyone have experience with them? or with someone else they'd recommend?
Thanks!

National Sail has a good price on their lazy bag. Pretty happy with mine.

If you're a diy type, learning to sew isn't that hard and comes in really handy on a boat. I bought a vintage machine for $50 on Craigslist, watched a lot of Sailrite videos, and got started. I've made covers for mains, hatches, winches and a binnacle, sheet bags, organizers, tool bags, etc. I've also done simple sail repairs - torn luff, spinnakers rips, sacrificial, etc.
If you go that route, find a vintage machine from the 1960s/1970s. The all-metal gears can handle the heavier fabric.
Otherwise, a canvas shop (boat or auto) can handle it easily.

Lee Sail Covers online. Do your own measurements and just punch them in online. Got a custom one for ~$400 for a 30ft boat.

Imo good covers (of any kind - sail, boat, bottom, instrument etc) are money well spent. Sailmaker should be able to help

My mom made my last one. It was ok, but I sold the boat.
I need to learn how to sew.
On my new boat, I don't have one. I roll up the sail, unhook the outhaul, slide it off, and stash it below. I think it takes less time to take it off and stash it below as it does to put a cover on it. Below, it is out of the sun and rain, like it would be with a cover. And, while at dock, there is that much less windage should the boat experience a storm at dock.
On the rare occasions I sleep on the boat, I figure it is night and therefore less UV so it is ok to leave it on the boom uncovered.
I wonder why main covers are made of such heavy fabric. Why not something like spinnaker/tent fly nylon or frog tog stuff? The canvas like stuff typically used might be just on the edge of what a normal sewing machine could handle, but the cover could be made light and easy.
My mom worked at the fabric store part time, and did side projects for people, mainly prom dresses and that sort of stuff but, there are people that seamstress for money, and this would be well within the realm of someone like that.
If I wanted a sail cover now, I'd go to the guy in town that makes boat covers, repairs sails, and races with our club occasionally. Hosts a party every year for the club too, so, yeah, tossing him a couple hundo would be cool. https://www.shipshapecanvas.com/boat_canvas.php I had him replace a window in a sail once, he did good work but it took a while.

I'd give Bacon and Associates a call before anything else.

I bought a cheap one on Amazon. It faded pretty quickly. So don't do that unless you're selling your boat.

There a number of firms online, even at Amazon, that you provide specific measurements and they'll make a cover.

They can easily be made by a local canvas company or some sail makers. You can also make your own, see SailRite videos and products.

I made my own using sailrite as guide. I have a very basic sewing machine maybe 125€. Added a walking foot. I have very little sewing experience. If you don't look too close at the stitching it looks pretty good. Made with sunbrella.

Usually they are a custom fit. A local sail loft or canvas shop are your best bet to start your search.
You can also make one yourself, check out sailrite.com

We got ours done by Precision Sail. They also made our sails so it was pretty easy.

Local sail maker did mine. No regrets. It fits perfect
