I absolutely agree. I tend to like darker, more thought-provoking eps, but ADITL captured the "heart" of the series in an "awww" way as none other. Even though it's not my "best" comedy, it's one I can depend on to feel good and recommend to others.

Im a little afront whether I should choose A Day in the Life or Necessary Evil...
I think Necessary Evil for Callisto and Velasco. It trumps a Day in the Life, even though aDitL is a quintessential Xena episode.

Yes I understand that, but there were a lot of other good episodes in the series that didn't feature Callisto and I noticed how many of the Callisto episodes featured in one of your previous "best off" selection-type posts.
Perhaps it should just be a generic "All Callisto episodes" per season as one of the top five each season. I mean if the Callisto episodes are going to feature in the top 5 per season, then she has a major role in four episodes in each of Season 2 and Season 3 - which means only one other episode gets a look in for both those seasons. Season 4 she's only in the Ides of March, which would of course be a good choice anyway, and Season 5 in two episodes. Season 6 was Callisto free so other episodes got a choice to shine.
Now don't get me wrong, I also like Callisto, but there was more to the series than just Callisto vs Xena........

The price is my favorite episode this season because Xena learns from Gabrielle. Gabby was fearless and stood up to Xena in a way that I think defined their relationship afterwards
