What happened to Hugo’s?

I was walking in the area the other day and Hugo’s is gone! It seemed like a staple in Las Colinas. Anyone know what happened?

That place was so expensive for what you got. You couldn’t eat lunch there for under $20.

That’s… cheap are you poor

Yeah dawg I’m destitute begging on the street. A lunch menu at a Tex Mex place in like 2021-2023 was $8-12.

The closed down their lost colony location in highland village too

It was another texmex place before and that place was better than Hugo's Lost Colony.

Yeah lost colony wasn’t that good. It was more for the inside concept more than anything

People making jokes, but people need to be concerned about shit like this.
Today it's Hugo's, tomorrow it's everything but Walmart and the DMV.

I love walmart! Any family owned business with low prices is a win in my book :)
IAmAnIdea@reddit
Well, it can happen to Walmart too.

You can thank the greedy landlords. They would rather have an empty space for a year than a paying tenant on a long term lease….epitome of the DFW CRE market where developers and landlords think they can charge any rent they want….good luck with that….
ForeverOk7505@reddit
That always blows my mind! Wouldn’t you rather have some money coming in than none at all?
Temporary_Ability684@reddit
I know right….but it’s the age old tale of “if you build it they will come” mentality….driving around the metroplex I see a lot more empty store fronts nowadays even all the new builds going up

Hugo's Excommunicado?

Rent was too high and they refused to pay more and got locked out of their own restaurant

That’s horrible! How disappointing. Everyone that worked there was so great.
