Stress will also do that to you too. I went from gaining weight in a very physical trucking delivering job to just doing pallet drops and I ended up losing weight cause I hated my last job.
It’s a balance.
Why on God's green earth did you ever think you'd be banging so many chick's on the road? 34s are tge only r time you're ever in one place long enough to make a connection. And if you're getting women to come to your sleeper that you didn't pay you're a fucking wizard.
Not a trucker but ya’ll not alone on this. In my late 20’s I got my first office job and the spread started. It creeps up too. Went from a 28” waste to 40” in about 5 years.
Definitely not the same as OTR and I had better food options but yeah, sitting for 11 hours a day takes a toll.
I gained 30lbs in 6 months when I first started OTR, but lost all the weight after a few months of keto diet. It made me understand why there were so many overweight truckers.
Before I start my shift I lay low carb snacks on the passenger seat so I can grab a bite without looking. Almonds, walnuts, beef jerky (without nitrates), chicharrones and vegetables.
Could have an apple and banana for some carbs instead of the burger and fries at Denny's because If you stop carbs completely you can get "carb flu".
And before I went to bed instead of eating a meal, I would take this stuff called psyllium husk. You take it with water and it's like a sponge that expands like 5 times and gives you the sensation that you're full.
Everyone has a plan to eat healthier on the road until those sixteen+ hour
days is keep hitting back to back with the flip flopping schedules for delivery and loading appointments....
You can lose weight and keep a decent physique with shitty food too...
You just need to watch how much you eat, don't drink liquid calories and exercise when you can, even 1-2 times per week is ok.
Yeah but you get super hungry if the quality of food is low. I just heard actually that some animals have sort of a protein sensor and they basically eat until they get enough protein and there’s a hypothesis that that’s what we do and it’s why we overeat fast food cause it’s low quality
In some regions of the United States, particularly Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northern Utah, and Northeast Ohio, a popular variation of potato wedges are known as jojos.[2] Jojos are potato wedges that are battered, seasoned, and either deep-fried in the same vat as fried chicken, or pressure-fried.
They're delicious.
