Shit like this often gets exaggerated. I don't think people are offended significantly more now than at any time of the past. I do think that we now are more likely to hear about it than was common in the past. And that is exactly to be expected, that information and commentary now flies with range and breadth that was inconceivable during the analog era.

To me, this is so obvious that it causes me to wonder if those who propagate such opinions aren't flat-earth dumbfucks.
