TIL movie scenes are almost always shot several tines over and only the best take makes it to the final film. So make a parallel version of every movie, out of the SECOND best takes of every scene , and sell the tickets at a discount

Some scenes are successful on the first take, foe those instances , mount a GoPro on top of the production cameras, and use the GoPro footage for the scenes that have only 1 take ,

Sweded version

That's a ridiculous idea. Scenes are often combined into one perfect take by the editor by taking bits and pieces of many different takes to make one best take. To do what you are suggesting would add a huge amount of cost to the filmmaking business. For example, advertising would go through the roof due to having to advertise multiple versions of the movie. Then there's having to pay everyone multiple times for each version of the movie. It's just not financially feasible to do so.

I would pay extra to see a version made out of the absolute worst takes

they could do like a dragons lair game where you try to keep the film on the rails and if you miss you get bloopers
The_Troyminator@reddit
That would be pretty much any Ed Wood film.

Just play Red Alert 3.

Twice the editing for less profit, genius

This if basically Anchorman 2 unrated. Almost all the scenes have different jokes.
Crunktasticzor@reddit
So all the scenes with VFX would just have temp unfinished shots or a bunch of greenscreen?
The-Real-Mario@reddit (OP)
No just take the VFX plates from the best take and overlay them on the second beat take , without any adjustments, just slap them on there
nolalacrosse@reddit
There’s a weird version of anchorman that’s like this.

One of the reasons I'm still a DVD person - the outtakes and deleted scenes!
iamnogoodatthis@reddit
This would just cost the studio more money to produce though...
mambotomato@reddit
You're saying it would be a Crazy Idea?
iamnogoodatthis@reddit
More like just pointless

Release the Out-takes Cut!

I remember watching deleted scenes of “Iron Man” with my dad. Some of them had the production codes and times visible. It was wild to see not only how so many takes can make up a single scene… but some of those takes could be done months apart.

They should have "pay what you want" screenings, and the quality of the takes gets chosen based on the average ticket price that people paid
