3 lbs of black powder installed in the airbag connected to the switch. They wont steal ever again.
How to disable it for you is for you to figure out.
Pendurag@reddit
Drop the fuel tank all together. Then store your bicycle in the trunk as your real mode of transportation. Neither your car or bike will be stolen then.
Ifyouhavethemeans@reddit
Insert a bag of sugar gas down the nozzle to be siphoned off.
Aetheldrake@reddit
Just slash your own tires. This is a sub for crazy ideas. Siphoning your own gas is just stupid because it won't get everything and it won't stop your car from being moved. My car has literally said "0 mile to empty" and was still going.

cwerky@reddit
Def crazy idea. There are many easier ways to accomplish the same.
CptnHnryAvry@reddit
Seriously, just take the engine inside with you.
NovarisLight@reddit
Don't forget the catalytic converter!
TerraCetacea@reddit
Honestly at this point, they should just make a room in your house to hold the whole car! I think we should call it… a car closet.
SimilarTranslator264@reddit
Don’t be stupid. Those “rooms” are used to hold $200 worth of shit you don’t need ad you park your car outside. At least that seems to be the going thing.
NovarisLight@reddit
Brilliant!
cimeran@reddit
I just don't think any hanger or rod would be strong enough to hold a car?
ValuableShoulder5059@reddit
If someone steals it, it's getting a tune to ignore those sensors. If the epa wants to go after someone, they can start with the people stealing them.
sexwiththebabysitter@reddit
I just remove the spark plugs.
EffRedditAI@reddit
This guy knows vehicle protection!
Megalocerus@reddit
In the USA, just drive a stick. Theives abandoned my FIL's car mid-theft.
SignificanceFun265@reddit
Just get a horse. Most people don’t know how to ride a horse
ekz255@reddit
You can do it like Mr. Bean and take the steering wheel with you. Good luck stealing a car without that.
Rab_in_AZ@reddit
Easier to pull a fuse.
Left-Chair-2761@reddit
Literally just pull the fuel pump relay and it'll accomplish the same thing
livens@reddit
Pulling the fuel pump fuse and keeping it in your pocket is an old trick my grandpa taught me.
juanzy@reddit
A fair amount modern cars lock the gas door when the doors lock.
FairNeedleworker9722@reddit
Just pull the spark plug or disconnect the battery.
Device420@reddit
Pretty sure they added a screen to the bottom of the fill tube back in the 90s to prevent this.
Erlend05@reddit
I managed to break mine by pushing a pump nozzle too far into the filler neck. It got stuck and made me fill it really slow, so i had to get something long and narrow to pick out the pieces
Device420@reddit
Umm.... The screen is at least 2 feet from the fill hole. I'm not sure what you experienced, but it couldn't have been the screen that I am referring to.
Erlend05@reddit
Not in my car, it was just beyond where the pump is supposed to go. Or at least something was there that i managed to break
PowerfulFunny5@reddit
Or an anti tip over valve (I had Trailblazer/Arcadia like that and discovered I couldn’t siphon gas out of the tank.)
Chocolate_Sweat@reddit
If you own a DeLorean just send it into the future so it appears in your driveway at 7am.
P1zzaman@reddit
It’s easier to bring your car home and tuck it in bed.
Don’t be like those barbarians that keep their car outdoors.
qwertyqyle@reddit
I am a big fan of kill switches. They are easy to hide so only you know where it is, and thieves these days just don't know why it wont start.
Educational_Share_57@reddit
Quick connect fuel cell?
dworum@reddit
They use to have keyed locks on the gas tanks
captaincootercock@reddit
You'll get a hole drilled in your tank instead of just stolen fuel.
Jaxis_H@reddit
much easier to wire in a hidden switch to the fuel pump.
ObjectiveOk2072@reddit
Absolutely, but this sub is for crazy ideas
Hammon_Rye@reddit
Siphoning gas is dangerous.
I remove the tires and axles on my van and it has never been stolen. /S
PrimaryThis9900@reddit
Put just enough gas in your car to get around for the day. Then stop at the gas station first thing in the morning and do it again.
gc3@reddit
Thieves can do that too
PrimaryThis9900@reddit
I actually misread it as siphon your gas so thieves can't steal your gas. I think it still works though.
ARatOnATrain@reddit
Also remove the wheels so they aren't stolen.
Unusual_Entity@reddit
I had to drive a customer's vehicle once. What they didn't tell us was that one of the unused switch blanks had been replaced with an actual switch, wired into the starter relay. You had to hold it down while turning the key and it took an embarrassing amount of time to figure out why it wouldn't crank.
CrunchyAssDiaper@reddit
My dad was once a mechanic in the 70s. He had to have a customer unlock his hood, and noticed the car had a second battery added. The customer said it was in case someone stole his battery he would have the second as a backup.
derping1234@reddit
Just disconnect the brakes. Teach the thief a lesson.
jesepy@reddit
A steering lock would be a better option if your neighborhood is that bad, right?
juanzy@reddit
If you’re talking about modern keyless, there’s a fair amount of tech that helps with that.
GarugasRevenge@reddit
Uhh I just use a steering wheel lock.
New_Challenge_7187@reddit
Bring a gas canister if you want to steal somebody's car.
