Tobias---Funke@reddit
The guy with the lifted truck has waited his whole life for that rainstorm.
natkingcoil@reddit
"A freaking semi sank but I didn't! Not my tundra!"
mikareno@reddit
And didn't get washed out by the wake from that semi either!
ValuableShoulder5059@reddit
Semi driver drove off the road, no way it was 48" deep!
MrMcgruder@reddit
Says to himself “Worth it.”
Few-Solution-4784@reddit
going to lift it even higher and get some 32" tires.
Btomesch@reddit
I can tell he can’t swim by how fast he got on top of his truck. To certain ppl that’s like lava that’s how scared they get.
JustaHarmfulShadow@reddit
Average redditor when they think they can outswim a current strong enough to move a semi
Btomesch@reddit
Momentum from him driving off the road
JustaHarmfulShadow@reddit
Still moving after his momentum should've stopped.
Even if it did stop; it would be a Darwin award worthy to assume the current is weak and you wouldnt be swept down the flood.
I can tell by your comments you'd drown by exhausting yourself if caught in a riptide
FlounderOk4110@reddit
I agree with you but since were having a shit talking session about water survival Im gonna hit you with this:
Do YOU know how to escape a riptide?
Automatic wrong answer: Dont get into the riptides. Cant use that one.
My buddy and I used to body surf them during riptide season on the coast. Its a blast if you know how to do it without getting buried alive under 4ft of sand.
JustaHarmfulShadow@reddit
Yes, swim with the current at an angle until you escape it, if you fight against it you'll just tire yourself out all the while getting further from land
FlounderOk4110@reddit
Its absolutely......you ever want to try it out on the Pacific coast get an 8mm wetsuit. Riding an ocean kayak on high swells is also awesome......like riding a roller coaster.
Whoopsadiddle@reddit
I mean I’m a fine swimmer but if it’s strong enough to sweep a 40 ton semi, I’m not sure I’m going to risk it!
FlounderOk4110@reddit
Imagine the debris you cant see, thats the biggest danger no matter how well you can swim. Could be entire fence lines ready to wrap you up.
Current_Young7961@reddit
I think if he really couldnt swim, he wouldn’t have risked driving through it at all. I would hope.
jdhunt_24@reddit
look at how fast its moving that semi. you think you can outswim that current?
Brucible1969@reddit
I think he may be hydroplaning 🤔

FlounderOk4110@reddit
Wouldve been funnier if he had a Tote can on the truck😆
FlounderOk4110@reddit
Because if he doesnt tell dispatch to fuk off,his only option is to be the dumbass that tried anyway as if anyone in that company would even know or remember anything he went thru to get his load delivered. Now its on him, he should've said "This load isnt moving for now"
Garworinth@reddit
Ahhhh, we cant all be dumbasses
NotMeUsee@reddit
Well that was an expensive mistake
Fuckyousnow@reddit
Looks like the water made his brakes fail?
EscapeWestern9057@reddit
If you're going to ford moving water, do what the other semi did, set yourself as up stream as possible, to give yourself as much time and room to compensate for getting pushed.
BJJ1811@reddit
Well, that was a dumb move! 😂 but entertaining!
PensivePaladin@reddit
He was following the power lines from the looks of it. Maybe assumed the ditch would be road level? 🤷♂️

"Thats gotta be the best pirate I have ever seen"
3MATX@reddit
Sounds about right. Were the flash flood capitol of the world with our geology, topography, and geographic location.
Looks like idiot in Tundra decided to give it a go. And idiot number two in semi also decided to try thinking he’s heavier he’ll be fine.
What he didn’t account for is all of that surface area on his fenders and gas tanks and possibly trailer that were pushing him. Once the tires break traction from the road you’re fucked. You’re never getting those wheels back in contact with water flowing so fast beneath.
Turn around, don’t drown. It’s a very simple thing and when you’ve seen enough families washed away and drowned in their cars, you internalize this and don’t make that mistake.
tasselledwobbegong1@reddit
An old timer once said to me, in reference to bad weather, to tell the broker “oh you need that delivered today? Good then you’ll still need it tomorrow/next week!”
TacoRedneck@reddit
Lol I still wouldn't risk my life for one, but missing a deadline on a Home Depot or Lowes load usually means you're bringing it a week or 2 later for their next open appointment.
tinysavage@reddit
And we know they could get it that day too. It hurts
bluehorsehead@reddit
Lmao never heard this and I'm definitely using it now
CORVlN@reddit
If videogames have taught us anything, it's that you can drive through anything if you mash the gas hard enough.
3MATX@reddit
Funny enough it looks like all the rigs behind him safely albeit foolishly got through. Maybe he had an empty trailer and that’s the difference? Or he could have driven off road.
BRICH999@reddit
thinking he didnt follow the road where the others did.
christer820@reddit
Maybe empty. Current pushed him easier. Went right off the side of the roadway into the deeper water over the grass
Prankishmanx21@reddit
Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me given the way that he just kind of floated away if he was actually empty.
3MATX@reddit
My thoughts too considering three trucks make it by after him. Something is different and it’s not the current and volume of water.
mjkjr84@reddit
His initial speed into the water may have also been too fast causing him to loose traction with the road
Few-Solution-4784@reddit
Same thing would happen on Maui. Storm up in the mountains, rain flows over the road, whips your car/truck over the cliff. Just pull over take a nap and it will be gone. Even a few inches of water is enough.
Rebelliuos-@reddit
He’s like ok i am out, now what????

Discodoggyy@reddit
🤣
Asstronomer6969@reddit
Why? Because it's not his truck and he was pissed at the company. I mean how many of us have heard about a guy saying eff it? Then leaving the truck/trailer at some rest stop and quitting. This is the golden goose of that routine . Aww man sorry flood came up and took the truck, sorry bro.
Hashslingingthrash3r@reddit
Why not?? it’s been hot out side dude
crochetology@reddit
When common sense isn’t common.
sayaxat@reddit
The phrase "common sense" needs to die. It should have died when the industrial revolution came.
If something is common to you, it's because you happen to see a lot of it, whether in person or online.
It's like another social post I saw today where someone said it's common sense to read the cruise line's insurance policy. If you go on a lot of cruises, or if you read lots of insurance policies, or you saw online what happened if you don't, it would be common sense.
UhOhAllWillyNilly@reddit
The context term is UNcommon sense since it is obviously so rare
RKK-Crimsonjade@reddit
Playing submarine I guess
Roanokeboy29@reddit
Roads are always crowned highest towards the inside not the outside why this guy thought he could get through that way I have no idea
Roanokeboy29@reddit

LineValuable9848@reddit
If that current is strong enough to keep a semi floating away ,there's no way in hell an average swimmer is not gonna get swept away ,he needs to get on top of the trailer and stay put till he can be rescued with a boat
Rcouch00@reddit
I’ll admit my first 10 second reaction was also, stop filming and go help a dude damn.. then I saw the volume of water as the next truck went through .. OH.. yup, that guy/gal is FUCKED. Flotation device or high point and wait, good luck.

Maybe he does vodka not beer?
Euphoric-Cow9719@reddit
Dude it's obvious he thought he might succeed, but his set-up was wrong 🤣 He should've chose the same route the trucker after did instead of driving completely off the shoulder. . . Hold my beer in this case he knows he cannot swim with one arm/hand lol😭

I'm gonna guess the driver drove off the road cause he couldn't see the road due to it being under water. But that's just a guess.
