Has anyone else not received the pre-alert text for Sunday?

When they tested it last time both my partner and I didn’t receive the alert. We are on one of the networks that it didn’t work for, however multiple people I know, have just had a text pre-alerting/reminding them about the test for Sunday? Both myself and partner have not received one… All my alert notifications are on.
yasssqueen20@reddit
Interestingly my phone EE received one however my work phone hasn’t but it’s a different carrier anyway
Racing_Fox@reddit
I’ve not received anything
In fact the only reason I knew about it at all was because I happened to be travelling on the M3 for work and it was on the dot matrix there. Other than that I’d have no idea.
ThirdWheel69@reddit
I received a text message at around 11:30am this morning from UK_Gov
On 7 Sept at 3pm, we will be testing Emergency Alerts. Compatible phones across the UK will vibrate and make a loud siren-like sound. Learn more: gov.uk/alerts
I’m on EE network
sweetlittlespitfire@reddit
4 of us in the car on the same EE plan. Two got the text within a minute of each other. One got it about an hour later and I’m still waiting for mine. Clearly I’ve been chosen as tribute.
One things for sure - I’ll be staying home on Sunday. The evening before the big storm in January, we got an alert through when I was in Lidl. But instead of the call to safety coming as one,it was like an old alarm clock croaking out its final toll: disjointed, unnerving and not quite in tune. After half an hour of what I’d assumed was a malfunctioning security alarm, I got back to the car and finally realised the government was acutely concerned for my wellbeing.
Though for the prior test, my alarm didn’t sound so my satisfaction level with the government can only be 50% (on this matter. It widely varies depending on the day, the headlines and how the weather is)
rainbow-songbird@reddit
Im on ee and got nothing
ARobertNotABob@reddit
Same. EE Business in my case, even though I'm not a buiness.
TheMasalaKnight@reddit
I’m set up like that too, it’s was a while ago but I seem to get a decent contract when I renew
Amzy29@reddit
Same but got it about 4pm
Sc4rl3ttD@reddit (OP)
Yep that was it.
steveakacrush@reddit
personal phone is on O2 and company phone on Voda - no notifications on either.
Acceptable-Sentence@reddit
I got one and I’m on O2
skidmeis7er@reddit
Me too
Fit-Breakfast-3116@reddit
I got mine way later than that, it’ll just be slowly rolling out.
MelodicAd2213@reddit
Nothing here on Vodafone (quelle surprise)
lemonhaj@reddit
I only know about the alert because of some random news articles Google threw up on the side of my phone
Unlikely_Egg@reddit
I'm on Smarty and have literally never had one of these alerts. Guess I'll just die then.
LemmysCodPiece@reddit
Not a sausage as I opted out of the whole thing.
Reasonable-Cat5767@reddit
What's happening on Sunday?
Eoin_McLove@reddit
This post is how I’m learning that there is an alert test on Sunday.
Livid_Painting2285@reddit
I got the text on Tuesday, I'm on O2. My husband got nothing and he's with ID mobile.
It's also on the motorway signs near me so even if people don't get a text they might see that instead.
1968Bladerunner@reddit
Nothing for me on Three
corysphotos19@reddit
Same but with smarty but they use the same network as you. lol
Charyou_Tree_19@reddit
I got the pre-alert text yesterday but I didn’t get the alarm last time. Who knows what will happen? So much suspense 😐
toady89@reddit
I’ve received one from O2 but not Vodafone on my work phone. Last time I knew I wouldn’t be in the UK so just ignored everything.
Curiousferrets@reddit
Still nothing EE
littlemissdizaster80@reddit
I got it this morning. I turned my setting off for it because I nearly died that last time it went off and what good is it going to do if there is an actual alert. We haven’t got a chance.
newbracelet@reddit
I know it seems like it, but they have actually used it to keep people informed in cases of flooding or dangerously high winds.
I'll be honest, I don't want a 5 minute warning if there's a nuclear event or anything like that, but I definitely want to be told if there's something dangerous like flooding happening nearby.
NecroVelcro@reddit
I'd appreciate real alerts if the screaming alarm weren't a standard. I've got hyperacusis and I don't need more ear pain and the shit being scared out of me.
WanderWomble@reddit
Given how bad the moor fore in Yorkshire was the past few weeks, I could see an emergency alert being useful.
littlemissdizaster80@reddit
I hear you. Where I live, I doubt we would have an emergency like that because the town has just spent millions on flood defences and I live up a hill. The weather, we just deal with because it Scotland. It’s either gale force winds or worse a lot of the time 🤣
kimba-the-tabby-lion@reddit
The one I received in Australia was about the bushfire conditions for later in the day; telling us where to go, not go and what to do in an emergency. It could have been a disastrous day, but lucky the cool change came through early, and the worst did not happen.
littlemissdizaster80@reddit
That sounds awful for you. I hate seeing bush fires. They are devastating for all. I hope you have a bushfire free summer this year. There is nowhere to go here, I don’t think. If shit goes down, I will just lay low in my home 🤣
kimba-the-tabby-lion@reddit
I was in the city, so the advice was to stay put.
I wish someone had texted all the idiots to stop using disposable bbqs during 2022 London heatwave, when fires broke out across the city. That does not happen in australia. 🤞
littlemissdizaster80@reddit
Nothing surprises me in the UK! Every other country seems to be organised and enforces actual rules and regs but here, it’s do what you want 🤣
kimba-the-tabby-lion@reddit
Yeah, they take fire seriously in oz.
littlemissdizaster80@reddit
It’s awful and the loss of wildlife breaks my heart.
vario_@reddit
I haven't gotten a text, but my mum mentioned it to me so I guess she did. I switched the emergency alerts off in my settings so maybe that's why.
TankFoster@reddit
Is there any way to get out of receiving it? If, for example, you're working nightshift this weekend and don't fancy being startled awake for no apparent reason.
PipBin@reddit
Do what now? I didn’t know this was a thing
chindilani@reddit
I haven’t received it either tome
Cannabis_Sir@reddit
We're too poor to get an invite to the vault
Apprehensive_Milk151@reddit
If you could use your body to shield the higher classes from the blasts, that’d be great.
History_86@reddit
Nope I know the alert is coming on Sunday but never got a text reminding me. I’m on EE. I only heard about it off the news
Jumpy_Stock_9675@reddit
Boyfriend received one, I haven’t yet. Currently 7:43. He’s on EE, I’m on 3. Tried googling about not getting one but nothing so far. Odd
Therashser@reddit
I haven't my partner did last night.
jayjaytuk@reddit
I did receive one , but honestly I don’t want to know if it’s the end of the world 🌍
rocketscientology@reddit
Nothing from me on Lebara…but I did discover a text from my bank informing me I’ve earned a whopping £0.37 cashback from last month.
Tough_Plankton_3152@reddit
I'm on EE and i haven't received a message either. Based Manchester.
Necto_gck@reddit
I'm with EE and got one this afternoon.
leobrodie@reddit
No text for me. Im on Three network
robinmonty@reddit
Voxi user here and I haven’t received anything. My house mate has but not sure what phone network they’re on
Barnagain@reddit
Nothing received here
CreativeGarden2429@reddit

ambiiee96@reddit
I got mine at 15:40
AlwaysEatingPancakes@reddit
I received one, my son didn't. Both of us with O2.
LochNessMother@reddit
Vodaphone - nada
uponloss@reddit
I got one on Sunday or Monday, on o2
nicotineapache@reddit
Well thank fuck I saw this because I live in fear of that weird sound and I'd automatically assume the world was ending.
Sc4rl3ttD@reddit (OP)
I wouldn’t know what the sound was as I am yet to hear it 😅
Zealousideal-Sail893@reddit
I am 02, received a text message on Tuesday, but my broadcast alert settings are turned off.
AlarmingCharacter680@reddit
Didn't get one - Giffgaff.
Original_Bad_3416@reddit
I didn’t get one.
notaballitsjustblue@reddit
I opted out of the alerts. I haven’t received a pre-warning warning.
JustAnotherFEDev@reddit
I've turned mine off, too. I like to think I'll get all that info from Facebook, like I do when it's raining outside, how many reps Dave did with 100kg, what Dave had for his dinner, what Dave bought from Flannels, what Dave bought today, where Dave has booked his next holiday. So, I reckon Dave will post to say there's a nuke en route and he's got all his Stone Island gear in a bunker so it's fresh for the aftermath.
Then I can stop what I'm doing, put my feet up and wait for the fireworks
CrazyPlatypusLady@reddit
Then Thurs means that I maybe haven't turned mine off like I thought I had. I got the message, but I thought my alerts were off.
Ok-Bandicoot638@reddit
What test?
Fat_Bottomed_Redhead@reddit
I have 3 phones (yep, I'm a pimp), all on three network, not a sausage on any of them.
Death_Binge@reddit
If you don't get the pre-alert text it's because a government sniper is actually going to blow your head clean smooth off at 3pm on Sunday instead.
WitShortage@reddit
I'm on EE, and I haven't received the pre-warning warning
Opening_Succotash_95@reddit
I'm on EE and did. Must be rolling it out slowly.
WitShortage@reddit
Yeah, it just came in on my phone about 20 mins ago. It could well be regional as well as operator-specific
Mysterious_Ranger218@reddit
Got one for 7pm tonight
121daysofsodom@reddit
Looks like us EE folks will have to repopulate the planet.
Sc4rl3ttD@reddit (OP)
🤣
kimba-the-tabby-lion@reddit
I got mine yesterday (Tuesday) morning. It came from O2, not the government
I can't believe how difficult this is. The first time I received an emergency alert was more than 10 years ago, during bush fire season in Australia, with a SIM I had picked. up at the airport.
Sc4rl3ttD@reddit (OP)
I know that’s that I was thinking - how difficult is it really?! 😂 just sums up the state of affairs really!
elgrn1@reddit
I've never had any of the alerts or notifications in advance of the alerts either.
RoutineCloud5993@reddit
I got mine from o2
UKelder@reddit
Me, me, me. Spotted notice on M25 on way to airport but nothing to my phone
Fwoggie2@reddit
I got mine yesterday at 10am (I'm on O2).
Numerous_Green4962@reddit
Nothing on either of my phones. O2 for work and 3 for personal.
Phinbart@reddit
Nothing over giffgaff as of yet. I'd actually completely forgotten about the upcoming emergency test until I happened to visit a GOV.UK webpage the other day for some reason and saw a reminder at the top of the page.
KernelPoptartz@reddit
I receive one from o2 this morning but not from three so far
Exact_Setting9562@reddit
I guess they're sending out the pre alert text over a few days or whatever.
I've not had one either.
Intelligent-Iguana@reddit
Received the pre alert 15 mins ago on EE
Drwynyllo@reddit
I've had a Yellow Warning of Thunderstorms. Does that count?
sourpatchnova@reddit
I haven't received anything and I'm on EE.
Haunting_Practice_23@reddit
Yes a text received this morning. I'm on O2.
Spicy_Wimp@reddit
Just received a pre warning im on o2
Working_Document_541@reddit
Not a sausage.. I'm on giffgaff

I hope it helps.
Timely-Bag-1506@reddit
I haven't received a warning either
