X570 upgrade vs i5-14600k

So, the i5 is dirt cheap now at $80 after the bf6 bundle.

I had this am4 board forever due to its “upgradability” now I have the choice …. The faster processor I can get for around $250 is probably the 5900xt since all the x3d chips are gone from retailers.

Meanwhile, I watched gamers nexus review and the 14600k, wipes the floor with the 5950x (basically the 5900xt) in all tests including productivity outside of decompression.

Intel now the value king 👑 🤯 I can get the chip and mobo and ram for $250 or buy a 5900xt for $250.

What would you all do?

I would look for 5700x3d hard if it's still exists.

I agree that 14600k makes more sense than 5900x. Only issue is that you will have to change motherboard in future too. But i would probably go for it for 250$

The 14600k uses ddr5 and the 5900xt uses ddr4 . Get the intel chip if you aren’t going to switch to an AM5 mobo

14600k seems like the move here, tough to beat for net $250.

Switching over to Intel isn’t an awful idea, but honestly I would hold out another hundred ish if possible and get a 7500f or a 7600x with mobo and ram
