Behold, my Americanized version of beans on toast.

Buttermilk biscuits, homemade British style baked beans, and sharp cheddar cheese.

This is just chili on toast. Sir this is broke people food. Speaking from experience.

Bet that pisses over 'British' beans on toast. Looks pretty amazing tbh
joshpoppedyou@reddit
Nothing to wind us up really, it's just "biscuits" instead of bread
zeekkeyz@reddit
Homemade is always better...
Store bought beans + white bread = hidden sugar bombs padded with preservatives, emulsifiers and artificial sweeteners.
Homemade buttermilk biscuits + beans = real food, no weird additives, way friendlier on your gut and blood sugar.
Plus homemade is way more satisfying and tastier.

This is only an issue in the US. the rest of the world didn't need to make everything themselves for it not to be a health risk.
Our bread isn't full of sugar and actually goes off
skillmau5@reddit
Yeah British people are a shining star of good health
joshpoppedyou@reddit
Found the person leaning on decade old memes
skillmau5@reddit
I was literally just joking around with you man, sorry
joshpoppedyou@reddit
Sorry too mate, I'd just woken up after a night of dealing with my 3 year old at 4am. I rolled out of bed the wrong side
skillmau5@reddit
Its all good, it was inherently a snide comment lol

American? Where's the 4 gallon bottle of soda and super sized fries with extra gravy? And extra cheese with a side of school shooting?
JuanC1965@reddit
Why does it look like there’s meat in those beans?
BadFont777@reddit
Was going to ask if those are English Muffins.
ligirl@reddit
If you did this with southwestern style baked beans I would be all over this, but the British stuff....these are not flavors that meld
Individual-Bed-7708@reddit
Why do we need to push cheese on everything??? Beans and toast are fine just as is
joshpoppedyou@reddit
The fact you called it beans AND toast makes me think you're not British. Cheese on the beans has been a combo for decades, it's not new
Sigrudson@reddit (OP)
Perfectly good without as a barebones meal, but the dish can also be elevated by adding cheese, bacon, or a fried egg.
Beneficial-Crow-5138@reddit
You forgot avocado.
SLCPDSoakingDivision@reddit
And onions
Naniduan@reddit
It's a good thing you guys rebeled against the Br*tish othervise you'd be eating shit like this regularly
Automatic_Donkey_773@reddit
This is very cursed, sir.
kawiz03@reddit
Contacting ICE to get you deported for this "dish"
Mike_Oxsmall_420@reddit
As a British citizen I’ll allow it, but you need to be careful comin round these ends with flavour like that mate
regeya@reddit
Oh, nice. I'd probably hold the cheese, and add some brats or some other kind of sausage on the side.
