TUF X570 m2_1 extremely slow, but normal on m2_2

Recently I got an used TUF x570 plus wifi board, at first everything was fine. And recently I update add a new Samsung 990 Evo plus 2tb ssd so I did a benchmark found that the speed is extremely slow, it is only 1800MB/S
I have another old drive Adata sx8200 pro and it run even worse , only 800MB/s
Both drive run slower than 50% of their supposed speed on M2_1 (CPU)
Before I do other troubleshooting, I swap the 2 SSD to the M2_2 slot (chipset), which is the one at the bottom of the motherboard. Then the speed is normal, 990 Evo plus got 6500MB/a and the Adata ssd got 3500MB/s
This is the list of troubleshoot I have tried: - update bios - new windows installed on the new Samsung SSD - clear CMOS - unplug all SATA - set GEN 4 under all pcie and m2 slot - reseating the CPU and ssd (no visible bend on th CPU pins) - only GPU rtx 4070ti super is plugged in the pcie slot

They are very clearly operating at x1 speeds. 800MB/s for SX8200 because it's a 3.0 drive, about twice that for 990 Evo because it supports 4.0. So changing gen in the BIOS won't do anything, that's working correctly.
Apparently this particular NVMe slot is not shared with any other devices and comes straight from the CPU. So technically it shouldn't be possible for it to slow down.... However...

Apparently you are not the only person with this issue. You would most likely need to RMA a whole motherboard to get rid of it. If updating BIOS didn't help then it's likely a damaged trace/line somewhere.
If it's any consolation (at least if motherboard is out of warranty period) - this looks far worse than it will actually feel like. Because it only really affects sequential speeds. Anything random doesn't exceed 1GB/s anyway even on top tier drives. So it might look like it's 4x slower than it should be but in reality and actual tasks:

A SATA SSD (860 Evo) needs 72.8s to load BG3 save. The fastest possible SSD needed 66.6s. So in your case instead of probably around 68s it will be around 71s.

Yes , it's only affecting the sequential speed. It's painful to see 4x slower 😂.
Your BG3 comparison makes me feel better since it won't effect daily usage.
Would you recommend using the new Samsung 990 Evo plus on that slow m2_1 slot or the second m2_2 chipset slot?

Gen4 drive goes into Gen4 slot, yeah. In this case it's better to have that Evo in a top slot, 1.8GB/s beats 800.

In general, the OS should be on the faster drive/slot.
