Canyon Creek vs. Lake Highlands?

What are peoples thoughts and/or opinions about these two neighborhoods? For Lake Highlands, specifically talking about the L Streets/Lake Ridge Estates area.
Currently looking at houses in both of these and I was curious about how people with experience living in either neighborhood felt.
Thank you in advance!

Where is the Canyon Creek neighborhood?
That area of Lake Highlands is in pretty high demand. Generally a very safe area with the occasional porch theft. I'd try to avoid streets that could be a cut through. Bonus points for a street that has speed humps.

Canyon Creek is in Richardson.

Considered both neighborhoods when looking at a home. We chose Canyon Creek mostly because we liked the atmosphere of the area (more of a true neighborhood vs. a collection of streets) with a walkable center plaza, country club, and park. Interesting mix of old homes and new builds, and never much traffic through the neighborhood. You wouldn’t end up there by chance and I think that helps keep traffic low. We also did not want to be in Dallas proper, wanted a smaller town feel. Only downside so far is Richardson’s interesting garbage policy (no cans, put bags out the morning of collection).
