If you guys were buying a pc, would you rather get the NVIDIA 3060 12GB or the AMD RX 7600

My friends and I are building a pc, and after we finish we plan to sell it, but we're wondering whether people prefer the NVIDIA 3060 or the AMD RX 7600. ty!

The 3060 12GB for sure. DLSS support, more VRAM, and for a decent price. I've used it before and it is a very top-notch GPU for it's kind.

Whats your cpu when you used it? How many fps you got on 1440p?
What will be the ave fps if you pair it with a Ryzen 7700?
AcrobaticNetwork5918@reddit
I had a 5600X at the time before I eventually replaced both for a 5700x3D and 9060 XT.
The 3060 should do fine until you start getting to high-end CPUs
Tommmy_Diones@reddit
Thanks. How many fps do you have and what resolution?
Will it play 50-60fps in 1440p?
AcrobaticNetwork5918@reddit
Depends on the title, as I havent played many AAA titles. However, checking some benchmarks and performance videos, it should meet the 50-60FPS range with medium settings, higher in competitive sports titles.

Nice. Thank you for the info brother. Appreciate it.

I’d go for the 3060ti over the 3060. Way more horsepower for a little bit more money
AcrobaticNetwork5918@reddit
That is fair. It will depend on whether you want to prioritize more performance or more VRAM.
Zomboidian@reddit
If we’re speaking strictly gaming, I’d go for the 3060ti. Once the 8gb becomes an issue, you’re already maxing the card out. The 12gb 3060 doesn’t really have enough horsepower to justify the extra vram at least in my opinion
TherealJerameat@reddit
9060 or 4060 but if only the 3060 12 gb was available then that.
CurrencyTasty1689@reddit
I wouldn't do the 7600 8Gb. The 7600xt 16Gb is much better. The 3060 12Gb is good, but for the money, I'd just buy the 9060xt 16Gb. It's newer, better performance, better upscaling and about the same price.

If your're trying to sell it ZERO question always Nvidia.

I bought an RX 7600 in October 2023 and after 2 years it’s ok. Since I didn’t replace my ultra wide 2560x1080p 60hz monitor it’s a good priced card for the screen. But I’m counting the days until I can upgrade both to better round out my PC and improve the visual experience!

I'd rather grab the 3060. More VRAM, DLSS support, and superior ray tracing imo; RX 7600 might give you slightly more fps if gaming solely at 1080p but that shouldn't outweigh the perks you get with the 3060
evernessince@reddit
I agree with going with the 3060 12GB if it's the same price. If it's more expensive, then it's kind of a throw up.
DLSS and FSR both take a notable visual hit at 1080p native and frankly this level of card will be lucky to hit 60FPS in modern triple A titles at that resolution. Plus the performance hit for 3000 series cards for DLSS 4 is higher than newer cards and may not even be worth it. At that point it might just be better to go with the higher raster performance AMD card.
Ray tracing is irrelevant at this tier. Neither of these cards will give you anywhere near a satisfactory experience.
Nvidia's typical stable of perks are very weak on the low end. The main reason you should be getting a 3060 here is the VRAM, because eight gigabytes will make some games a very poor experience.
vvhathehellwasthat@reddit
I agree, the extra VRAM is definitely the difference maker here and the rest is negligible given the level of the cards

9060xt
vargaking@reddit
I originally wanted 7600 too, but the 9060xt is a very good deal. Huge step up in performance and also there are the rdna 4 features old gen won’t get for 100-150eur extra.
Open-Egg1732@reddit
What OS are you running? What is your use case? Gaming, VR, design?
firey_magican_283@reddit
The rx 7600 is faster but 8gb of vram is a hassle to work with and it's only like 10% faster.
Also your reselling and nivida does way better with people looking for prebuilts or with little market knowledge. The rtx 3050 6gb was selling similar to an Rx 6600 despite the rx 6600 being almost 2x the performance.
Naerven@reddit
If it's for a flip then you probably want an Nvidia GPU. There are lots of people who don't know any better and will pick Nvidia because it's the more popular manufacturer regardless of performance.
jbshell@reddit
Nvidia sells better. The top 10 GPUs on the stream hardware survey are all Nvidia(top 2 are 4060 and 3060).
