That's actually what pushed the luther burger into the realm of sensibility for me. Two donuts is a stupid novelty food that I'd never try. 1 donut bun is a stupid novelty that I would try. OP even toasted it.
I had something like this once at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. They used a krispy kreme donut for the bun, so it was hard to hold because it was sticky.
The story is that when a restaurant ran out of buns, Luther Vandross went to Krispy Kreme and got glazed donuts to use instead, hence being called the Luther.

"According to legend, the burger was named for and was a favorite (and possible invention) of singer, songwriter and record producer Luther Vandross"
Irl Vandross died of stroke. Coincidence? I think not.

“GRANDDAD! You can't serve this kind of food to people. It'll cause... death!"

Probably a contributing reason why Luthar Vandross died in his 50s 😂

Ah. Ok. Thank you for clearing it up. It wasn't obvious that the bun was a donut.
Mattasaurusrrex@reddit (OP)
Np, yeah it’s only got a bit of a shine on the glazing. I can see why you thought it was a normal bun lol
JackBeefus@reddit
I thought that was butter or grease or something. Anyway, I'm gonna go have a heart attack now.
