Need opinions on transmission

Sup from Europe folks. I recently acquired an opel Omega b (was rebadged as Cadillac Caterra in Us) in a ~mint chassis condition. Due to its price and unpopularity here in europe a genious (not) idea was born in my stupid head by swaping a BARRA inside. As all known BARRA projects here can be counted using my both hands i am looking for some advice for any transmission and rear susp solution to prevent this shitbox wind on the driveshaft. Trolls and roasts are acceptable, but any piece of really advice will be appreciated

I always thought Cateras were good looking cars. Transmission issues killed all of them sadly. I haven't seen one on the road in a load time.

BMW 6spd the g420 I think it's called
other options is probably get the Barra with the transmission
you could probably get an 8hp adapted or even a one of the later Zf manuals

I think these came with a BMW diesel in europe. Maybe a manual Getrag box will fit?
They should also share a lot of parts with a Holden Commodore from the same era.
