Streisland effect doing it's thing on our government. It was firsts flown as a joke as far as i know, and now it became a symbol of resistance against governmental excess and overreach. They tried to ban it from being flown even though it doesn't mean anything beyond being fictional.

For context:
People who are protesting the government are doing so by flying the Straw Hat flag. The symbol has become a rallying cry against governmental oppression.
It's so common that the government is considering outlawing it last I heard.

I’d hate to tell that guy that his officially licensed one piece flag also came out of a Chinese factory. Just checkout Pokémons, the licensing fees multiplies the retail price. Yet mangakas make below minimum wage in Japan.

In the words of the wise, great Whitebeard, Edward Newgate, the great and late pirate, the visionary: "THE ONE PIIIIIIEEEEECE! THE ONE PIECE IS REEEEEAAAAAL!"
And with these great words, spoken amongst a crowd shocked utterly silent, we can only do one thing, one thing only, and ask: "CAN WE GET MUCH HIGHER?" (So hi-igh)
Even in the darkest of our Dark Fantasy, these are the words that shall stick with generations, now, then, and ever more, for the legends transcend the confines of mortality to inspire.
