Honestly and I know this sounds stupid. I think gaming is put into a seperate category from things like watching TV or scrolling tik tok. Gaming, sport, hiking, fishing are considered hobbies that require some structuring and effort while things like watching TV or scrolling Instagram are seen as intermediaries between activities (i.e. getting home and cooking dinner). So when you spend 3 hours on micro-entertainment (which is very easy to do), you havent actually committed to a leisurely activity while if your spouse spends 3 hours gaming, hiking or whatever it's seen as a isolation from your relationship. Its a petty and stupid thing to get annoyed about, but both men and women do it.
