Plot twist. He actually knew what he was doing but because of the camera and the editing the whole village now calls him dumbass and his wife left him.
I think you mean center mark. That's what I use when I drill. Then maybe a smaller drill bit for a pilot hole, but that requires a bit change. How do you create a pilot hole with the same bit you're going to cut with?
Depends on which center, but usually for us it will be a trucking center. I don’t know Mark, personally. As far as a bit of change goes, I suppose I could spare a dime. 😆 okay am I dragging out the puns
It’s the hole that someone drills to pilot the bit, or resulting screw or nail, so it seats properly in the hole you made without stripping or anything else
Naw this is cost of business, this probably a drop in the bucket. Definitely fucked up someone’s month but it the grand scheme this was probably a weekends worth of drugs in a major city once it’s distributed.
The power of economics my friend, see money is an interesting thing, and outflows and inflows are heavily tracked by central banks, using some econometrics and import export data you can estimate how much extra money is leaving the United States from illicit activities then compare that to the known street price and amount confiscated. That’s how we also know how much they make, it’s hard to identify specific payments but it’s easy to see larger trends.
Yeah well also the documented street price for a lot of drugs is absurdly high, way higher than what’s actually paid in comparison to what I’ve paid as a drug addict over my lifetime lol so idk how that factors in, but very few people paying 100$+ for cocaine
They are literally attaching shipping containers to the bottoms of cargo ships and dropping them off just out of port, on top of that they have their own submarines, airplanes, semi fleets, etc….the list goes on and on and on and on and….
They also send a "sniffer" load out, just to see what detection methods & areas are popping up. It's better to lose a load & its transport method (along with the driver[s]) every once in a while to know safer routes/methods of transportation & ensure that more cargo gets through...
vs., sending it ALL on one route & all of it gets lost.
So the majority of people should be put in prison camps because drugs exist? Which is a non-violent crime to begin with? What kind of drugs are you on?
Not so fun fact! This has happened a few times, from the cuban revolution to the Vietnam war (the strategic Hamlet program) and it doesn't usually end well
When meth was getting to be a big thing in my area, and I worked for a cell company at the time when it started.
When they started using the cell sites we had to cook, the entire company got a meeting with the DEA and Kentucky State Police.
The DEA officer told us that they send people to the border and other places as a sacrifice on purpose.
That may have been a smaller load and the big shipment got though it due to that being purposely given up.
The DEA officer said they hit the towers because they are so remote and response time is terrible, and they have access to power. By the time anyone can respond or it's discovered, it's too late.
They had some pictures of some really clever hidden compartments too.
Somebody is going to get offered a very NICE dinner, a pack of smokes and a comfy chair before the interrogation begins and I got a feeling it is going to be a very interesting conversation lol😂
Wasn't aware the law offer plans in what appears to be South America. . . either way, both dope smuggler drivers as well as their families are on borrowed time.
When will truckers learn that border patrol has giant fucking x-ray scanners as you drive thru or before their checkpoints. You can't hide shit anymore. If you get thru it's because they let you thru.
That one guy just running a drill in place, reminds me of when they show a video of a someone workin on a wheel lug with a Philips head, yea we know you’re not doin shit!
Some back of the napkin math regarding the surface area of the tank and approximate values of the product per kilo and I'm inclined to agree. If my math is worth a damn and assuming around $40k per kilo this is still only hitting around $500mil, though I'm kind of just assuming the thickness of the pads and and estimating the product value, so the reality could swing that up or down wildly
Idk, a shipment of 30tons of meth destined for Florida was nabbed by the feds but meth heads didn't have to sober up for a minute out that way. The amount of drugs coming across the border is insane I'm sure this is just one of the 100 trucks coming across the border at any given time
Pretty sure they all had the same amount, but just in the time spent while they were busy busting this one, and patting themselves on their backs, 10 more made it through without any issues
The fact that they used a bunch of sheets instead of just one was a major tell. Front and sides are a dead giveaway. I wouldn’t even need training to want to walk up to one of these and tap on the side. So many seams wouldn’t stand up to the pressure of its contents.
Nope, those sheets are just an outer covering. The tanker cylinder is underneath. I drive food grade tankers. The product is in a cylinder, that cylinder is surrounded by insulation, and that insulation is covered by nice, shiny sheet metal like you see in this video.
I've heard this is the only way to make enough money to go home with a hazmat anymore. Or this is why no one can make money trucking anymore... I can't remember now how it went it was something like that
Had to be. This would be almost impossible for the police to find. They must have caught someone who knew - there would be a fair number of people who would have to know - for a different crime and they informed.
It's in the insulation though and I am not sure an X-ray beam goes through this much metal very well as is. Neutron scanners can do it but that's not in use for this.
It would take a massive scanner.
It's possible, but it's more likely an informant or the end cap was practically falling off because it wasn't properly secured.
Imagine living so black and white that if someone says person A isn’t a hero, then person B must be a hero.
No, the cartels aren’t heroes, either. However, basic economics demonstrates that when there is a demand for something, someone will meet that demand.
The money the USA spends on drug enforcement is wasteful, because at best it only raises the price of drugs. That just means more crime as addicted people do things to afford those drugs.
By spending that money on the treatment of addictions, we’d spend less money overall, and the cartels would have to find something else to do to make money.
Back in the 80s, I drove between L.A., Phoenix, and San Jose for an L.A. based company. I’d see LPG tankers from a Mexican trucking company all the time. Then, one got pulled over crossing the border in Texas. The driver parked, got out of the truck, and bee lined it back to Mexico. They opened the tanker and it was full of cocaine. I never saw those trucks again.
Just one of those bricks would make for a fun few months. That was a decent spot to hide it. Im sure 100000 ppl done it before tho and they noticed the tank looks a lill weird. Or a dog smelled that shit for sure
Presume they stack like that to count the total. But it urks me that they stack them 3,2,1 for 6 in each stack. When they could just do 4,3,2,1 and have it 10 per stack.
Your comment reminded me of an Esquire Magazine article I read back in the 90s probably, about a real life drug dealer out on the West Coast who had established a sizable distribution network, raking in a LOT of money. Got busted, did some time, then got hired by some corporation doing legal work. Their reasoning was if he had the brains and talent to set up that kind of network in the "underworld", he could do something similar in the corporate world. As I vaguely recall, he eventually started making serious bank in the corporate world.
I mean the ship has already kinda sailed on that. Most Cartels have diversified their business interests into things like Resource Mines, Corporations and other legitimate or semi-legitimate businesses. So even if all narcotics were suddenly legal, most would just keep trucking just like the Mob did after Prohibition ended.
“A semi-truck carrying a tanker trailer can hold between 9,000 and 11,600 gallons of fuel for transport.” From Google. That’s roughly 55,372 - 71,368 pounds. Roughly take off an estimated error of 5% from those. That’s really scary. Lock them all up. I’m glad the law enforcements caught this. Some scary stuff.
Allow me to explain as a fuel hauler driver. What is actually happening is the Oxy 87 is now being processed into small bricks and then hand delivered. Each brick is worth 50 gallons of fuel.
This of course can only be transported in a fuel truck because of the bricks are too warm they will melt back into liquid fuel. You can only imagine how much unleaded I've had start to melt in my hands as I'm waiting for a signature from a manager.
JJJ stands for Jumping, Jiving, and Jamming. This is what all fuel drivers are taught in the official DOT training course. Nope, you won't get to haul fuel bricks until you can Jump, Jive, and Jam.

You're right the cartels are the real heroes!
Like wtf are you even talking about
Aqualung812@reddit

I never saw those trucks again.

bittz128@reddit
European metric. It’s only worth $70m in ‘Murica
ConsiderationOk7139@reddit
I’d say that’s your typical “FuckTon”
JohanBroad@reddit
So a European Metric Shitload roughly equals and American Standard Fuckton?
efcso1@reddit
It's 2.2 American Standard Shitload to the Metric Shitload, then 10 Metric Shitloads to the Metric Fuckload.
And 1,000 Metric Shitloads - or 100 Metric Fuckloads - to the Metric Fucktonne - which would therefore be 2.2 Imperial Fucktons.
Or did I forget to carry the 3...?

Blue_Veritas731@reddit
Your comment reminded me of an Esquire Magazine article I read back in the 90s probably, about a real life drug dealer out on the West Coast who had established a sizable distribution network, raking in a LOT of money. Got busted, did some time, then got hired by some corporation doing legal work. Their reasoning was if he had the brains and talent to set up that kind of network in the "underworld", he could do something similar in the corporate world. As I vaguely recall, he eventually started making serious bank in the corporate world.

Funny enough teducing demand by making itblegal and easier to getvwill hurt cartel more than keeping it illegal.
Deadmemeusername@reddit

Some scary stuff.

pmmemilftiddiez@reddit
