Linking something positive to something negative so you don't / can't do it anymore is a very common symptom of depression. OP starts talking to a girl, connects that thought to something negative ('she's probably slept with tons of chads'), thus tainting the original thought, and now cannot talk to the girl anymore without associating it with a negative feeling

I have so many questions to ask but don't really have anyone to ask. The unfortunate thing about communication is that you need another person, and that these people "remember", they judge, you can act on them and they can act back. I think that is part of the benefit of reddit and really any anonymous forum, less push and pull.
