Any good flight school in Long Island, New York that will provide i20 for international students?

Hello, I'm planning to do part-time MBA at NYU and want to start my flight training in the Long Island/New York City area. I'm an international student and looking for a school that will sponsor F1/M1 visa. I've heard some scary stories about flight schools treating international students like rats. Any recommendation? I don't really care about how much it will cost, quality of education is my #1 priority.

Really the wrong way to go about it. Get a student visa with university you plan on studying at. If it’s nyu, they can do this in their sleep. Then you can fly and get your rating at any school. You aren’t tied to that particular flight school with your student visa.

It really depends on USCIS/ICE, not NYU itself. Studying part-time doesn't fulfill i20 requirements therefore they can't provide visa. Studying full time is rigorous and I can't do my flight training at the same time.

So not really studying to get your mba. Is your intention to get your flight certs and think that someone will sponsor you or are you intending to return and convert your certs. Because just throwing it out there - no one will sponsor inexperienced pilots for a work visa.

I'm choosing the 2nd option. I just want to have the best job opportunity when I go back home. If it's not flying (which I prefer), then I'll just find some different jobs with my MBA. Sounds like the most complicated, yet safest option for me in the future.

It's been ages, but I got my PPL at Nassau Flyers at Republic (KFRG) in Farmingdale. At the time I thought they treated everyone really well - and that included someone who was international. They were training to be an ATP though - so they were doing the accelerated program. Again, this was a long time ago ('90s) so clearly things could have changed.

Where exactly do you plan on living? There’s only a few flight schools within commuting range of NYC.
If you are already planning on an MBA program, don’t you already have a student visa?

Hello, thank you for replying. Part-time MBAs don't provide visa. I plan to live on Long Island and commute to the city for NYU.
