When I was younger I was disappointed that we didn’t have hoverboards, now that I’m older I’m disappointed we don’t have double ties.

At this age I'd rather have that sleep inducing gadget...

Nothing is stopping you. Be the change you want to see.

I was 100% sure in 1990 I took a trip to Germany and I convinced myself the were definitely gonna be selling them in Germany.. I was mistaken, I did bring my Pizza Hut sunglasses with me lol, the blue and like yellow w visor, interesting design but I loved at the time
reapersritehand@reddit
Going thru stuff at my mom's recently and came across my old black and hotpink/purple pizza hut sunglasses
MyNameCannotBeSpoken@reddit
Forget either. I want the three boobed woman from Total Recall.
PsyOpBunnyHop@reddit
I would rather have 8 popped collars.
sdcasurf01@reddit
That’s like when I was 2 and put on all the clothes in my dresser just because.

I was very young when I learned that while it's pretty hard to put many shirts on over top of each other, but if you put too many on then it's even harder to get them off. Not as fun as it might sound.

Could you not put your arms down?
CasualEveryday@reddit
This was exactly what came to mind but I cannot for the life of me figure out where it comes from.
CuriousRiver2558@reddit
I wear scarves all the time
RosemaryRoseville@reddit
I want the auto dry clothes for wet weather and self tie shoes which would be great for elderly people
Apprehensive_Hat8986@reddit
Sketchers just released "hands free shoes". 🤷♂️
Rick_from_C137@reddit
So... Crocs
Xanderson@reddit
You don’t wear double ties and pull your pockets inside out? I’m disappointed.
dkonigs@reddit
When I went to work on October 21st, 2015, I absolutely wore two ties :-)
(Even if I didn't normally wear a tie at all, nor did anyone else in the office.)

Flying cars that run on trash, we were supposed to have these 10 years ago dammit. I had the DeLorean, the cop car and the taxi from the future in Micro Machines.
Zeke688@reddit
Common misconception, Doc actually has to explain it to Marty in 3. You see the flux capacitor runs on the garbage. The car itself still runs on regular old unleaded. No idea how that’s generating the power of hovering off the ground, but it’s not like them skateboards had gas tanks so I dunno.
goat_penis_souffle@reddit
Doc says that, but I remember the car refusing to start with the “plutonium chamber empty” message blinking in 1955 before Marty hid it behind the billboard in the first movie.
Zeke688@reddit
‘There’s something wrong with the starter, so hid it… here.’ That’s what Marty tells Doc when he shows him the delorean the first time. Yes, the flux capacitor is also empty of plutonium at the time, but these are unrelated issues. I don’t remember if they actually work on (or remember to work on) the starter at all because Doc is so focused on literally harnessing the lightning.Marty struggles to start it when he is about to get struck by lightning too.
Cool_Dark_Place@reddit
Also makes sense for a DeLorean to have mechanical issues. They were notorious for shoddy build quality.
Zeke688@reddit
I have always thought that was why they included the bit about the starter, the plot doesn’t need it. 🤣
goat_penis_souffle@reddit
That makes perfect sense, you are correct.
Zeke688@reddit
I may have watched these films 20 times in my youth. 😆
Healthy-Speech-7728@reddit
Fair enough
GargantuanCake@reddit
It's because Vermin Supreme has achieved peak tie wearing prowess. None of us will ever come close so nobody tries.
Sinistas@reddit
A friend of mine used to own Griff's BMW and hoverboard. They were awesome.
ScreenTricky4257@reddit
I'm disappointed that we haven't abolished all lawyers.
___cats___@reddit
It’s so funny that their prediction was that we’d wear more ties instead of fewer ties.
humanist-misanthrope@reddit
I’m with you since ties are hands down the dumbest and most useless attire. It’s like hey you know what makes you look more successful and trustworthy, a silk noose. Back to the Future images doubles silk nooses as peak business fashion.

I’m in a situation where my only option is to go back into an office and I decided if that happens I will start wearing a clip on. I plan to be the laziest and most slovenly dressed person. Business attire is so pointless.
Xibby@reddit
Future Marty’s boss is Japanese, presumably Marty is working for a company headquartered in Japan. The double tie is a solid mix of business attire and r/WTFJapan.
And a solid call back in Part 3 by 1955 Doc:
1955 Doc: No wonder this circuit failed. It’s made in Japan.
Marty: All the best stuff is made in Japan.
Funandgeeky@reddit
That's the ripple effect from Marty not being in that car crash.
Past-Adhesiveness150@reddit
This is just like the scene from 3men & a baby.
Mobile-Boss-8566@reddit
I hate wearing one tie. I’m very happy this didn’t become a trend.
StillhasaWiiU@reddit
They were only off by one year with predicting the Cubs winning the World Series. That is pretty noteworthy.
revdon@reddit
And the sharks still look fake.
BootsOfProwess@reddit
I've been watching this movie for over 30 years and never noticed the 2 ties!
Glass-Guess4125@reddit
We do, however, have Evil Biff Tannen running everything.
bh4th@reddit
At least we have President Biff Tannen.

Ties of the rising sun. Lol
burnafter3ading@reddit
I see this now, and it makes me think of Klingons because I was always a nerd.
analogthought@reddit
All we got was that lousy video phone business. I still want a hoverboard- now that I have the health insurance to go along with it.
blueyedwineaux@reddit
Nothing is stopping you from doing it....
WatchMeImplode@reddit
That’s 2 too many ties.
Zeke688@reddit
I’m still upset we don’t have hoverboards, or flying cars. Fuck a tie, but I would rock some inside out jeans if it was the norm.
