Looking for CFI in DMV

Mods if not allowed, I apologize, but thought I saw a similar post squeeze by a few months ago..
I’m looking to get my PPL, in a wierd spot where I am getting a plane first (I know, I know, roast me on how you would beat up a rental first then buy a plane. But you're not me so *shrug*)
With that, I've had trouble finding any independent CFIs offering instruction in the DMV, specifically out of Potomac Airfield (VKX).
I'd want to fly often, as in most evenings / weekends maybe some weekday afternoons if possible. I've used Sporty's to do my groundschool already.
This could be great for a retired/semi-retired pilot or even a CFI who isn't getting enough time at their school, and wants to make some extra money. Let me know and let's talk.
Right now looking for Single Engine / PPL and probably doing IFR immediately afterwards. Eventually moving into multi-engine in the next 2 years. All GA, not trying to be a ATP or anything like that. Just flying myself and friends/family around safely.
Thanks.

I could defend you for buying a plane early in training. But not THAT much plane. Please price out insurance for a zero hour pilot in a retract.
If you can afford the plane and the insurance, you can afford to start in something more practical, then upgrade in a year or two.

Good deal and timing combined with selling a plane in a year to upgrade is a time sink and hassle I'd rather not deal with.
It's not a 1:1 but when I was younger I did the same thing with sportbikes. Bought bigger and before I knew how to ride / licensed. But kept my bike longer and learned more about it during the process.
If I can afford that much plane I can afford increase of insurance for the first year+ until I get my hours.

Please follow up with the insurance quote you get. I’m curious.

Tired mushy brain syndrome (need more Guinness or Jameson) had me thinking you’re at the Department of Motor Vehicles looking for a Flight Instructor.

DMV is a fairly recent concoction for the DC Area meaning the District, Maryland, and Virginia.
I was based at VKX through 9/11. Took me 5 weeks to get my plane out of there and was in the first bunch to get the DC-3 clearance. I really never went back however. A hangar became available at CJR and decided that was a better deal.

Do I recall your habitats near Statesville, NC for a time?

I live at NC26 now, which is about 5 miles due south of SVH.

Cool… I’ll keep ya in mind if I ever find myself in your backyard.

Lots of cfis. But it would be tremendously helpful for you to list what kind of plane. Some won’t instruct in certain types, or experimental or whatever.
And yes - it’s generally not the best move to get plane first but hey - your call
