Ehh my grandfather (soldier in ww2) hated them for a number of reasons and none were nationalist or libertarian ideas. He hated them because they hurt innocent people and threw the world into conflict. I'm simply speaking from familial experience. Understandable that the masses may not have had the same motivations.

Alaska has fewer people living in it than Rhode Island and is one of the most resource rich places in the world. It pays about 1 billion USD per year to its residents, roughly $1.5K per year per resident. 10.5% of the state lives below the poverty line, the national average is about 11%. In 2024 the state produced roughly 12.5 billion USD in oil. That doesn’t include other resources. Its GDP was about 55 billion.

It’s extremely unique given its history, geographic location, low population and resources.

Comparing Alaska to the rest of the country is silly. It might as well be a different planet.

Funny. This was the comic that made me block PizzaCake. I had liked her material a bit and semi-followed her for years, but she’s been foaming at the mouth like a lunatic regarding anything political.

On this same thread, I called out how using hyperbolic rhetoric like “Nazi” just makes their argument look ridiculous, and they all began calling me brainwashed, Nazi, etc., and they had no arguments other than essentially that Republicans/Conservatives are Nazis because they’re Nazis.

Glad I finally got rid of her. She had some funny stuff, but the political BS was close to 2020 levels.
