Weird "airplane" noise?

I almost shit myself. I occasionally hear airplanes and fighter jets passing by and i know how they sound like, they just have that strong "whoosh" sound.
However, this time was different. It's night time and i woke up a couple minutes ago because of a weird, loud, low frequency noise, accompanied by a pretty distant "whoosh" sound of an airplane. The more the airplane got near, the louder the low frequency noise became and i felt the inside of my ears trembling.
The best way i can describe what i heard is by comparing it with those "headphone test" videos, where you start off with a high frequency sound that goes lower and lower, causing discomfort in your ears. i'm sorry if i sound funny right now but i never heard anything like that and i'm just overthinking in the middle of the night.

Let’s start with the obvious: are you near an airport or under a busy flight path?

Not beside an airport, but i am not too far from an aviation school.

Sounds like afterburners to me.

I was working construction quite a few years ago about 2 miles of the end of a runway where the Concord flew out of. It was a hot and humid day and I thought an airplane was just about to crash into our storage yard when the Concord flew over on takeoff. It really scared me.

sounds like an auditory hallucination i have from time to time

I don't think it was an auditory hallucination. I was a bit groggy when i woke up, so i did think i was imagining things, but i realised the sound was coming closer and started to feel the trembling in my ears when i was well awake. It then just as gradually disappeared.
