Remembering Chris on his Birthday. One of the shots I took of him in 1992 when he played Club Eastbrook in Grand Rapids.

Living with the Law is on my list of perfect albums. Just brilliant and totally unique.

Saw him twice - Houston in the late 90s and again on his last swing through Europe at the Borderline in London. I still have that gig poster framed in my office.
His music was just everything to me for a number of years and his death was a huge loss. His artistic evolution was incredible to experience. No artist has quite hit the mark for me like he did. His absence is still noticed. I miss the Dust Radio forum too.
Thanks OP for the pic. Great shot.

I loved Living with the Law, liked the follow up, but then never looked for the rest of his catalog. Shame he died so young, and possibly from avoidable circumstances.

I saw so many good bands there when it was CE and later as Orbit room

We were very fortunate to have such an amazing place for music! So many rolled through there before they became big time.

There and Reptile House. So many great bands there. So many hangovers gotten there

What a coincidence. Last week I downloaded “Living with the law” off Spotify to listen to while on a flight. Still one of my favorite all-time albums.

When did Club Eastbrook close for good?
PaulJendrasiak@reddit (OP)
It became orbit room about 94. Then it bit the dust in about 2023.
