This was easily my favorite PlayStation video game when it came out

Anyone else a fan?
I never played the N64, PS2 or Gameboy game though

Man I loved this game when it came out! Emulated it a few years back, still good fun.

I had a xena fighting game on N64. Don't remember what it was called, but it was basically Mortal Kombat but Xena.
It was dope as fuck.

This was a great game too

Beware the stinky boot!

You can get it in an emulator

I still have it somewhere I'm sure. In storage probably

I've been looking for this for years

I mentioned this in another thread a couple of weeks ago, but back in the day I got to chat with the dev team while the game was still being worked on. The budget was pretty modest, but the team were all genuine fans and they honestly wanted to make the game as true to the show as they could (including that nice subtexty bit at the end when you finally rescue Gabrielle).
I enjoyed the heck out of it at the time and still have the disc, although I have nothing to play it on anymore. Gave an emulated version a try a while back, but the controls were kind of wonky and I gave up fairly quickly; shame.

It really felt like it was made by people that watched maybe one or two episodes of the first season, or what they would think it was about before actually watching it, via knowing about Hercules and it being a spin-off from that.
There are virtually no references to the show besides the obvious Greek setting, again ala Hercules.
You have Xena, Gabrielle, an appearance by Ares, and other Greek figures, like Hades. But nothing really specific. The lesbian hug at the end is the only sign they know something is up, but that could just be from knowing the pop-culture hubbub of it being "a show for lesbians".
I never got the impression the people in charge of, what was in, the PS1 game being actual fans.
The N64 Xena: Talisman Of Fate, on the other hand, were definitely fans as it's full of niche references that only a fan could know (characters and costumes). And, in interviews with Titus and Saffire, it was actually said they watched the whole series (up to that point: the first four seasons) in preparation for making the game - and it shows.

I usually use this game to test the picture out when playing Playstation on a new CRT. I always end up playing through the whole game when I only intended to play for one minute. It's that much fun and addicting. Even when I finish the game, I have to stop myself from playing it all over again.

This one was decent. The PS2 one is shockingly bad, though. Watch it on YouTube if you want a good laugh.

Yesss. Also Gabrielle in the minotaur hallway yelling "xenaaaaa" is just classic early season shenanigans. And the cyclops fight was the first real intimidating boss fight.

Omgggg. I played it for hours on end! Back when the graphics were kinda trash and you could stay in the same corner for several minutes, spinning like a damn fool....good times!

I actually got this when it came out. My mother took me to the BX on the base that afternoon and I saw it on the shelf and about fell out cause I was so excited. She went and bought it for me and when I got home I fell in love with it.
One of my most played ps1 games along with The Fifth Element, Independence Day, and Nightmare Creatures. I still have the game and recently got a ps2 slim a year or so ago and had planned to get it hooked up and play through some of my games I have.

I never got to play it. Every single time I would go to Blockbuster and check it had already been rented. I wasn’t big on buying games I hadn’t played since we could rent back then.

The chakram mechanic was so much fun!

It was a lot of fun. I would throw the Chakram all the time and see how far I could go and how many bad guys I could hit
