Supermarket staff of the U.K., do you have a VIP car park?

Or do have to share the customer one with us filth?

Isn't this obvious lol. They have a staff car park generally not always.

No, and where I work you have to pay the regular car park charges like normal customers (unless you’re a manager.) So most staff here tend to use a different car park where they can get a monthly permit.

I’d be looking for another job if I was (effectively) forcing you to pay to be there. Appreciate that’s not always realistic though.

I’d be doing the same! Thank you for your service, supermarket hero 🫡

During the pandemic, one tier of the car park became staff only as it had an emergency exit from the canteen which became a staff entrance. This was kept post-pandemic and now it's just for us, bwahaha.

You should not be forced to associate with The Great Unwashed.

More like a VUIP carpark.  We're told to use the furthermost spaces.

When I used to work at Waitrose as a teenager, we were not allowed to use the customer car park and had to park on residential streets within walking distance of the shop.

Used to work in Tesco. We parked where the customers all parked.

My local Tesco has a staff only parking it's next to their petrol station with Ballard's so non staff members can't get access

Of course they do, usually an underground car park with a hidden entrance, and as everyone knows every supermarket has a helipad on the roof as well.

I don't agree with this, they both typically have a flat roof and I saw a man with a van, with a drone ferrying staff onto and off the Aldi roof. It couldn't possibly have been just inspecting it.  They're smuggling the staff in now.

Man, you ever dream about what Waitrose has?

They don’t. And if they forget to register their registration then they’ll get a fine as well (although I think they can get it rescinded fairly easily).

I dont know any supermarket that doesn't share the same car park. They normally have a permit to show they're employed there though

Mk Kingston Tesco has a staff car park in the back of the building.

Generally just park the Roller next to the glass bank.

From my experience, the most entitled people park in the Pick up/Drop off bay right outside the main entrance.
