Hate to say I told you so.
But come on. I thought American voters were dumb. Did Argentine voters seriously believe that someone who worships the free market wouldnt be corrupt af?
He is obsessed with money and hates rules, now we see why, because he wants to get rich.
Like seriously how stupid can you be.
Yeah he said “I will reduce corruption” but why would you ever believe that?
He is a dumpster fire of a president who never really believed in what he said. This was evident from day 1 when he was against joining the BRICS - an organization meant to increase economic ties between countries - because “China bad”.
So then it was never about getting government out of the way to let business do it’s thing, it was always about aligning with a retreating superpower.

Hi mate, argie here. Please fk off with the I told you so. You have no idea who was in office before this buffoon. We traded stage 4 cancer for stage 3. What other option did you propose, based on your "I told you so". Please, elaborate.
I didn't vote for milei and I wouldn't, but there are 0 surprises here.
Thangoman@reddit
Milei makes Alverso look like a stateman
You are an idiot if you dont realize the scale of the financial bomb Molei is planting
Palpitation-Itchy@reddit
You can't be serious. You prefer certain obliteration to potential obliteration
Thangoman@reddit
THIS is certain obliteration. Its recession with no plan for growth, more debt and not ecen a single valuable thing got in exchange
Palpitation-Itchy@reddit
I don't expect to convince fanatics, see ya
Thangoman@reddit
This isnt fanatism, its the objective truth. Milei's plan is a timebomb
Palpitation-Itchy@reddit
You can't be ignoring the previous option man. That's what I'm saying. It's already proven they can't return. We can't keep voting them just because they are 1% to the left of the neoliberals.
A vote is a vote. I will never vote for peronism or the right. Simple as.
Mundane_Emu8921@reddit
The problem with Argentina is the exact same problem everywhere else. You had a “left”, like Alberto Fernandez, who really were not leftist at all but just neoliberal globalists.
Argentina would benefit massively from following the same economic model that China follows, that Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan follows.
Government directed development. Strong state sector that pours on money creating wealth generating economic sectors that have high employment multipliers.

Its a lot more nuanced than you think bud. You're talking about something you don't seem to very knowledgeable of.
Milei has almost no idea about what money he has or doesn't. His father abused him as a child and his sister "saved" him so he delegates absolutely everything to her. He has a messiah complex and probably doesnt even know his homebaking pin. He does this for the adoration more likely than the money. His sister on the other hand ( and her partners in crime, Menems) are corrupt to the bone. I fully believe Milei knows his sister is corrupt but is justifying her actions because he can't understand the saint is capable of doing something wrong.
He didnt get into politics for money. He got into politics because he fully believes god wants him to do this, and because his sister, one of the most corrupt people on earth, told him he should do it.
There is a biography about Milei thats very well sourced and hundreds of interviews if you want to know more.
max_mou@reddit
This isn’t helping your argument you know..
RaedwulfP@reddit
What I'm saying is that Milei is the result of 40 years of failed governments and an almost hyperinflation. When he became president we had 30% monthly inflation. Monthly. That means rice costs 1000 pesos one day, then all of the sudden next time you go to the supermarket its 1300 , on average ( actually food was higher) and you're still earning the same.
In context, it didn't surprise anyone he won. Only people watching a few videos online thought it was insane. He got like 30 million votes and was a complete outsider. A lot of the shit he said was true, like the fact there's a ruling political class who has been stealing from regular folks for 40 years. Something nobody else was saying. People just watch the video of the chainsaw and think " wow so dumb".
Its about as stupid as looking at a video of Trump doing some of his shenanigans, or joe biden stumbling, and thinking most Americans must be stupid. Its ignorant shit mostly.
max_mou@reddit
Dude.. are you telling me that Argentina got duped by a demagogue? Cuz that’s what I am hearing. Him telling whatever the public wants to hear so he can get in power (being an anti-establishment is so in right now). It not even that complex, he played a great game of demagoguery and won so kudos to him I guess..
RaedwulfP@reddit
OK max. It isn't complex, it's very simple, sure. Go tell everyone.
max_mou@reddit
Na man don’t be like that! Fuck politics! And I hope things get better in Argentina para los compadres argentinos.
Mundane_Emu8921@reddit
“The issue is more complex. You just don’t understand” is always used by people who know they are in the wrong.
RaedwulfP@reddit
Yes, because usually when people talk about things they dont know shit about, theyre usually right.
Yes, an election for an almost 50 million population country is complex. Shouldnt be a surprise. The fact that this weirdo won is evidence of that. It's as self evidente as it can be.
But whatever, you tell me about my countries election bro, I'm sure the 3 videos you saw on YouTube are enougn

During the transition, before he was inaugurated, he was given free lodging in an entire floor of an expensive hotel property of Marcelo Elztain. During that time, he was also given a free two-way ride to New York in a private plane by the current minister of foreign affairs.
Both those things are literal bribes. That wasn't his sister. That was him.
RaedwulfP@reddit
Logical_Team6810@reddit
Yeah idk how you look at someone like this and think "yeah they're fit to run a country"
RaedwulfP@reddit
Again, nuance and context. He was running against a super prime minister who is a narcoterrorist and was member of the party that brought the country to the brink of a hyperinflation and 50% poverty on a country that has every natural resource and produces food for x5 its population. The same party that governed during the pandemic in which they tanked the economy hard and shut everything down while the president had his whores in Argentinas version of the whitehouse and parties.
It was Milei versus Obama. And this Super prime minister left with a 30% MONTHLY inflation by the way. Its not surprising in at all that an economist won in that context. Didnt surprise anyone who was living here and had barely an idea of what was going on. Most people thought it was Milei or hyperinflation. We had one fairly recent and people remember how bad it was. Im only giving you like 5% of the context here.
zaplayer20@reddit
It is sad that he was elected to reduce corruption but he himself is corrupt or his family.
Thangoman@reddit
He literally vetoed an anti nepotism law his day in office and filled hs cabinet with friends and conmen
This was obvious from day one. He had some scandals prior to the presidency too
Arkal@reddit
Some could have hoped the guy wasn't corrupt because he was a newcomer (and our political establishment has a bad reputation), even if he was a piece of shit. But then he integrated obviously shitty, and corrupt, people into his government.
And also, he was and still is an idiot, who promoted a crypto scam while in office. Hence it became obvious that not only was he corrupt, he was a stupid idiot who doesn't know what he's doing, and is delegating everything to others.
Those facts are increasingly becoming more obvious the more scandals and fuckups come to light.
In summary, an incompetent, corrupt shithead.
