Best Budget PC I Can Get?

Looking for hopefully $1000 PC Build, MAX would be $1500. Maybe if its on the $1000, then a motherboard with uprgrade potential so I could upgrade a part in the future would be cool?. Will use for playing games (Like modded minecraft with some light shaders or spiderman would be the most graphics-intensive it would get), watching shows, and sometimes recording all at the same time. I'm really just looking for a good but still within budget PC, specifically needing help finding a gpu and cpu that match my needs. Then I have no idea how to figure out what motherboard, power supply, and cooling system to do.
I don't if its worth finding a prebuilt on discount or buy parts (I live in the US, so import prices I'm sure are not great).
Any suggestions would help. Shopping help or just the specs/what to make sure a part has when I shop myself. idk

You can easily build a 7600x / 9060xt 16gb system for $1k.
For $1.5k, you can get a real nice system that'll keep you going for a long long time.

Friend has close to the same build but with 9800x3d instead of 7700x, he maxes his 1440p 144hz monitor at max settings with little to no stuttering, I've seen benchmarks for the 9070xt that can hit 120 10% lows with a 9700x and the 7700x is only slightly less fast than that. Very good build here, but the ssd, iirc the kingston nv3 is like 5 dollars cheaper at micro center and slightly faster?
CtrlAltDesolate@reddit
Possibly is better pricing at MC yea - I just don't include them when spec'ing as not everyone lives near one and (while this guy is) not everyone lives in the US.
iiDEMIGODii@reddit
Yeah I checked, kingston nv3 is faster and same price
CtrlAltDesolate@reddit
Kingstons faster read, slower write - they're pretty equal tbh.
The lists more for what you can get than the exact individual choices anyway. As mentioned before, it depends where he's buying from and these lists are for ideas not "buy these specific things and nothing else".
CreepinCreepy@reddit
Do you live near a micro center?

It would be 2-2.5 hrs away. Ive only played in 1080p before. Is it worth playing higher res/viable for my budget?
iiDEMIGODii@reddit
1440p easily without upscaling.
Heinz_Sweatchup@reddit
Not really with a budget between 1000-1500 bucks
iiDEMIGODii@reddit
I consider 1440 easily as being 1440 120fps on high or max settings, and I've actually done that in the past with overclocking a 4060 and a r5 7600.
List of Games I tested, all were capable of 120fps or higher:
F1 2024, f1 2025, rdr2, cyberpunk 2077, gta 5 enhanced edition, AC Odyssey and I also used furmark.
That rig would be under 1k usd even without discounts.
Heinz_Sweatchup@reddit
Sorry but i HIGHLY doubt that. High to max settings without dlss 1440/120 isn't a thing on a 4060 - especially on cp77 - even with OC (which gives you what, max 10% more fps?)
iiDEMIGODii@reddit
Answer to the first, was on high not ultra.
Answer to the edit: gives room to upgrade a few generations down the line, 1000 should support up to the 2027-28 release 90 tier cards going by standard ups in power usage comparing the rtx 20-30-40-50 cards (I'm basing this solely off of the assumption that they won't make extreme breakthroughs and make a cheap card that performs like a 5090 but uses 2k w or some shit lol)
Repeat-Admirable@reddit
the amd bundles and some other stuffs can save you $100 to $200 in microcenter. Is your time of driving 5hrs plus gas worth that? I decided against it. i'm 1.5hrs away.
CreepinCreepy@reddit
At that distance, its really up to you if are willing, but their AMD bundles save you a lot of money.

something like this i guess, but have to mention this is what i can build according to my region market, some cheaper product that are good for its value are simply inaccessible for me or vastly overpriced, like Gigabyte and MSI board here is on average 30-50 USD more expensive than ASRock
No_Ride6364@reddit (OP)
Gotcha. Also, is Newegg safe to buy from? Never bought from there before.
AnarbLanceLee@reddit
Its definitely safe, its one of the biggest PC components website afaik, but only for Europe/American audience, its not available for my region (SEA)
AirDaddyy@reddit
the 7600 comes with a stock cooler
CreepinCreepy@reddit
Overspending for memory, storage, and ABSOLUTELY for power supply.
AnarbLanceLee@reddit
Thats the reality in my regional market, can you imagine Kingston RAM sticks with 6000MHz CL30 are the cheapest among G.Skill, Klevv, Corsair, Adata? Same story with storage, for some reason even Crucial P3/Samsung 990 Evo are much more expensive than Kingston 1TB, only Team Group MP44 are cheaper, but only by 15 USD, and thats a TLC SSD. PSU though that is debatable, i want something rated A and above on the PSU Tierlist, and Super Flower Leader III is the cheapest currently available, but the 750W is out of stock, and this 1000W variant is even more cheaper than Corsair RM750x, other options from Deepcool/FSP are mostly B or lower tier, but similar pricing.
No_Ride6364@reddit (OP)
Yeah and im not worried about finding good memory or ssd prices, as long as the motherboard has the common slots for them. What would you suggest for power supply if you dont mind?
Z7_Pug@reddit
This would be much better than the costco pc and would give a motherboard that has infinetly better upgrade potential. Intel sucks for upgrading. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tTTnDj
And building your own pc will almost always save you money from a prebuilt AND get you better parts. Prebuilts almost always cheap out on things like the motherboard, powersupply, and ram
FroyoQueasy@reddit
The most popular $1000 build right now would have to be the Ryzen 5 7600x/9600x paired with the 9060xt 16gb. There is a plethora of build guides for it on Youtube right now as well.
