A moped is cheaper than that and will get better gas mileage and have better mobility and have more places to park. The benefit of a car is that it can be used in all weather conditions and has storage space, which judging from the size of these things isn't much more than what you would get with an under seat compartment and a trunk attachment on a moped. Also I would bet they're more dangerous than a moped because there's no chance you fly off in the event of a crash, instead you just get crushed in your tiny death box.

As an Americanoid, (who to be fair has lived in Europe for years) I don't get why you would spend more money for less versatility and to look way dumber.

The problem with the Citroen Ami is that it's only good for people who live in cities like Paris and never plan on leaving the city with their car. It has a max speed of just 45 kmh and a range of just 60-70 km.

If they build a car like that, but it can do 90-100 kmh and has a range of at least 100 km for under 10.000€ I'm sure it would be a sales hit all across europe.

I have driven big pickups for previous jobs and I have no idea what you're talking about. My experience has mostly been that it's annoying as hell to drive such a big vehicle on city streets and in parking lots, and not at all fantasies of murderous car crushing rampage. Something nice about it I noticed is that it's fun to drive a vehicle with more power, a stronger suspension, and stronger brakes than it needs for itself, but that's equally true of a muscle car or luxury/performance sedans.
