Pro photog here- these are getting solid. To take them from sharp, well exposed, decently framed but ultimately unremarkable images, you need to be hunting better light, looking for better backgrounds, finding unique foregrounds, playing with different focal lengths, and exploring unique framing and perspectives, as well as collecting uncommon moments. There’s flashes of this in these- good light in 1, foreground element and strong background in 2, a pan (albeit too short a SS) in 4, catching two planes in 6, and then 7 to 12 fall off into less successful “just a plane” pics. You’ve demonstrated technical understanding of image making, now you need to start working harder at unique imagemaking and better seeing. Look for backgrounds FIRST then get planes into them. Look for foregrounds FIRST then get planes into them. Leave more negative space, leave less, shoot at the start and end of the day, look for unique weather like sun shooting out under dark cloud layers. Challenge yourself to stay under 70mm, pre-visualize a unique frame and work to make it happen. The good thing about shooting jets is you often (give or take) know where they’re going to appear. Lotta your work upcoming is with your feet. Happy hunting!
I know that most photographers will tell you to leave more negative space--and that might work for a few of these--but I love the ones where you take up most of the frame.
Minus AF1, unless you took it between January 20, 2021 and January 20, 2025.

Thanks for the advice, I see I should find some places to capture jets where there are alot of options with for/background

The_Cybercat@reddit
Embraer E-190 i think
LockPickingPilot@reddit
Maybe change the focal length. But that second one with the tree branch in the foreground with the blur, pure art
Xt2brother@reddit (OP)
Yeah, I'm still amazed that I got this much detail out of it on the b777
InitiativeAntique695@reddit
the second one for sure!
The_Cybercat@reddit
Pic #5 is abit too tilted.
Xt2brother@reddit (OP)
Yeah I saw, was hard to correct it and keep the crop ratio acceptable
