Is there a way to get rid of wasps that are infesting my attic?

Is anyone else getting a ton of wasps in their attic? I don’t know if it’s just me but my attic, which has been converted into a bedroom has been getting overrun by a fair number of wasps. One of them stung me whilst I was lazing around on my bed. Is there something I can do to stop them whilst I wait for the wasp guy to arrive?

Find the nest. Wait until night. Spray the nest with long range wasp killer. They die faster than you can imagine. Mid flight in fact. Sweep it up and throw out. Quite often the nest is outside under an eave and they chew an emergency exit into the house. If you find dead wasps inside they die from lack of food and water. The nest might also be inside the ceiling and might need breaking open the ceiling to get at. But their main in and out is going to be to the outside of the house, so watch the roof line for where they are entering the house. I had one inside the ceiling with an escape hole into the bedroom and the main hole outside and the exterminator opened about 4" of ceiling to get them. The getting part took 10 seconds. I have used the spray on nests outside the size of a football.

We had a problem quite similar with a nest under the bathroom windowsill we just called like an exterminator or whatever and has him has them through a hole so maybe you could do the same worst case you suit up get lost if ammo and spray the fuckers

Shop-bought Wasp Nest Destroyer Foam; if you can find a route they are following to get into the nest, and you have access to that route, spray the foam there. It's designed to break down the nest, but it kills the wasps almost immediately. One touch of it, and they croak. Conventional insect spray directed into the loft area too .....

If you know where they're coming from, you can hoover them up with a shop vac with an inch of soapy water in the bottom. They can't fly with the soap on them and will drown in the water. We had a problem with them under the eaves and I did that one evening. Just don't knock or bang where the nest is, it makes them angry as the guy who came to install broadband found out!

Cheers for the reply. So my attic might be slightly different not too sure but it has stairs that lead up to it from the upstairs landing, rather than a pull down ladder and the like. We have quite a few windows that are built into the roof. Would it make sense to spread flea powder at the windows as well? Might not be possible since they’re off the ground.
