Gizmo is a horror movie waiting to happen (or at least black comedy, which isn't much better). Howard is basically just a drunk, chainsmoking dwarf who's been tarred and feathered. ET is slow, clumsy, barely verbal, and wanted by the government. I personally don't want to be shot by some agent weirdly waving around a walkie-talkie like it's a rifle. And Ludo and Harry are basically just big, slow, hairy guys. Why would I want another of me walking around?

Meanwhile Falkor is wise, intelligent, kind, an excellent conversationalist, and will save you a huge amount of money on gas and airline tickets. And he can carry you back and forth to a world of fantasy where you can meet and interact with all of the characters from your favorite fictional franchises. Why would anyone not choose the luck dragon???

I had AI put them in a tournament of "useful sidekick capabilities" (not fights, lol), and...

Alright, ran a whole tournament bracket on this. It got super intense. We started with all the 80s sidekicks—Gizmo, Falkor, E.T., even Predator and Godzilla made it in.

After a bunch of crazy matchups (K.I.T.T. vs. Predator, Optimus vs. a very creepy Teddy Ruxpin), we ended up with the two best sidekicks in the finals: K.I.T.T. and Bumblebee.

It was a total clash of styles. K.I.T.T. is the perfect, logical, high-tech sidekick. Bumblebee is the loyal, heart-filled underdog. The final verdict? Bumblebee wins. K.I.T.T. is programmed to be loyal, but Bumblebee chose to be a friend. Plus, you know, he can turn into a 30-foot-tall robot to fight for you. Can't beat that.

The Final Four was a masterclass in sidekick skill. Ratchet's medical abilities proved just a little more practical than K.I.T.T.'s pure speed. And in a battle of wills, Bumblebee's courage edged out Falkor's good fortune.

This set the stage for the championship: Ratchet vs. Bumblebee. The perfect utility player vs. the warrior with a heart. Ratchet’s ability to fix things is invaluable, but Bumblebee’s loyalty and capability in a fight make him more than a sidekick; he's a true companion. Having seen all these movies, I can tell you that the main problem is going to be the government. Yep Falkor is the only option here, First he is a Luck Dragon so right out of the box your getting a passive skill. Second he flies, Harry might be able to carry you on his back but it's really not the same thing.
