On my feet all day. What are the best comfy shoes to wear?

As the title says really. What have you found? Even if it’s dark trainers that just worked for you. Cheers

I walked 10 miles a day, every weekday, for 10 years wearing Merrell Moab Ventilator shoes. They're the only shoe I've ever worn which were comfortable from the start https://preview.redd.it/91ieid2984mf1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=34c446fbe651f809d28eca65c50ba10fb701af8a

Will depend on your feet to some extent. I have high arches, wide toe box and am prone to plantar fascitis.  Hokas or ASICS for summer, Berghaus hiking boots for winter.  I do 20-30k steps a day 5 days a week in total comfort.

Hey, sounds like I have your feet! Have you had any luck with more budget friendly options? I've always been disappointed and often left with aching feet. I think next time I'll just need to fork out and put something good on my feet.

Try mandmdirect, lots of discounted branded running shoes if you don't mind unusual colours.

Ecco trainers or for smart shoes mephisto.

Minimalist/barefoot shoes. Takes a bit of adaption but it’s how you’re meant to stand.

Slip on sketchers. Got mine from the outlet £40 and do 10,000+ steps a day at work. Lasted ages.

Sketchers are ok. But I find they don’t fit me well. Too big or too small. Never just right.

Oh I love sketchers as they do .5 sizes! I’m a 5/6 and 5.5 is 👩‍🍳 😘

Insanely comfy but watch for quality control. I've had a couple of pairs, one great. One pair fell to bits within six months and I walk less than a mile a day in them to and from my office job, plus some odd errands out and a wander round the park 5 minutes from my house with the dog. Soles gave in, toe stitching split, the grippy layer on the sole flaked off.

second for sketchers, insanely comfortable

Crocs. I don’t care how much hate these get, they’re fugly yes but I love them they’re by far THE MOST comfortable effin shoes my trotters have ever experienced

sweetpicklemilk@reddit

Aye they’re ok to a point. I know lots of people who have tripped over and had foot or ankle injuries from crocs.
View on Reddit #65239948

Due_Garlic_3190@reddit

Yeah suppose same can happen in trainers too I guess

They’re so fugly. Didn’t stop me from buying two pairs

I have around 6 pairs including mellow soft and they’re the most comfortable ever. Honestly I love them, they go with everything too so it’s a win win

Nike Fly Knit trainers are BY FAR the comfiest shoes I have ever worn, and put up with cardio work in the gym.

Lots of people I know swear by Hoka’s but personally for me they’ve never felt quite right. For me I find New Balance to be the only trainer I can comfortable wear all day!

If it's a lot of movement, invest in walking boots or, as many have said, Hoka walking trainers. If you need a level of "smart", splash out on boots with a good sole. I like Loakes, others have suggested Tricker.

Walking boots seem to be the way. 👍🏽

These have absolutely sorted out loads of little niggles I had. Who know converse and vans weren't great for your feet

I'm a nurse, also on my feet all day and have disproportionately tiny feet (5'2 and size 2.5 feet) I swear by birkenstocks. For me they're perfect, good arch support, sturdy, wipe down, fit well, smart and last ages!! I've had mine 5 years and they're even more comfy, no coming apart at the edges or anything. I never get back/leg/foot pain. I personally think sketchers and other trainers are too soft and bouncy and not supportive enough.

I used to have a job where I was walking around on hard concrete all day and I found trainers that are designed for trail running (iirc) to be excellent. They're comfy, lightweight and incredibly durable. I did about 2000km in a year in them and I still have them. They are falling apart now but they distance they covered was incredible.

Nike Vomeros are my go to comfy shoes. I did have a pair of hokas too which I can highly recommend.

Sketchers. Running shoes could work well but I'd look for wider ones with a low drop

I'm a postman. In the summer I wear Hoka running shoes and in the winter I wear Tricker's Bourton shoes or Stow boots. I walk thousands of miles a year and my feet are always comfortable.

Running shoe brands such as Hoka, Brooks, and On are popular with hospital staff.

Sketchers are my go-to for comfort. I do believe that in professional circles they get a bed rep for lacking in support and their thick soles deviate from the foots natural position which could have lasting impact but what shoes don't these days? They do seem to come up on the bigger side so definitely try before you buy.

Portwest compositelie shoes may not look it but they are the comfiest shoes for long term standing I've worn and look professional enough too.

Sievi. Hands down. As someone who spends most days and many evenings on my feet in varied terrains, nothing comes close. Don't buy trainers whever you do, they will destroy your feet.

Vans - wide toes + a flat sole works well for me.
