Good deal, as prepping is greatly influenced by location...I will be keeping an eye on your progress.

Oh thats kinda cool
Doc-Brown1911@reddit
Do y'all prep any differently or the rest of us?
Not throwing and shade or anything, honest question.
The_Tz@reddit (OP)
Well, I would say that the preppers reddit is mainly US focused based on the posts and comments. Obviously, the laws and regulations are different between Germany and the US, so just because something is allowed in the US, it doesn't mean it is also allowed in Germany, such as guns. Also, equipment recommendations are, for the most part, irrelevant to non US preppers because we dont have access to US equipment most of the time. Also, the majority of people in Germany rent apartments instead of owning their own homes , which means that posts about adding things like solar to homes are mostly impossible for German Preppers. Also different news are relevant to people in Germany and other to people from other countries (there are of course news that for everyone relevant). Lastly, the new German Prepper subreddit allows people to post in German and answer in German, which is very big since many young germans dont speak english. There are also other differences. I would say that prepping is similar but the details are different.
Tytoalba2@reddit
There an euro prepper tho, with probably a larger community
The_Tz@reddit (OP)
Sure but even between european countries there are big differences in terms of laws and regulations, lifestyle, geography. While I do like and follow the europreppers subreddit I still find myself sometimes reading advice that while good may not be applicable where I live. Also knowing that you can ask something directly in german can be a big help for some reddit users. Many germans dont speak english
Unlikely-Ad3659@reddit
Best of luck, from a French prepper. I understand the need, this place is mostly US centric and not at all relevant to most of us.
Dry_Barracuda2850@reddit
While I'm not sure why exactly German but EU definitely has different laws, different supplies, different risks for natural disasters etc, and much less possiblity to have some where far away from anyone and also less risk to getting "lost" & unable to find people (as everything is much closer together)
So an EU or Europe version definitely makes sense

Less guns, tornados, hurricans, etc. More high water, russia.

Sweet. A new nickname for my GSD.

Joined. I hope the weirdos stay out
Brudegan@reddit
You realize preppers are considered weirdos nowadays. ;-)
The_Tz@reddit (OP)
I dont know about that. The european union many months ago started to recommend prepping for around 72 hours. Also The german ministry of interior is says that every person should prep for 10 days (used to be 14)
Brudegan@reddit
Thats not prepping thats common sense. Until at least the 90s every family had a pantry, a freezer and or basement with food for more than 2 weeks. I know that our family had a full freezer, pickled or otherwise preserved food etc. in the basement of our city apartment.
The empty fridge with just a bottle of water in it because you order food or eat out every day as a extreme example was sold to us as a good thing. These people are probably the new zombies when SHTF happens.
The very same people hang on the notion that SOMEONE has to do something to help them and that the government cant not help them because they are required to. I dont want to be there when they find out that there are no food/water reserves anymore in Germany since the 90s because even when i have prepped it will be bad.
my11c3nts@reddit
...... Don't you know there's no such thing as normal anymore?
We're all weird
LittleUrbanPrepper@reddit
Weirdos are inevitable. Pray for good members, test them for a couple of months and then make em mods.
The_Tz@reddit (OP)
Thats the goal
ForsakenBend347@reddit
I think this will be a very useful resource for folks who plan to travel through Europe.
my11c3nts@reddit
Wishing you guys luck and support from a light prepper
raiznhel1@reddit
So many, very dark, very inappropriate jokes could be made… but this Aussie will keep it down under, and in good humour.
At times like these I feel very lucky living where I am, in my rural, non-invasion corridor, self sufficient situation.
I would like to know how you guys prep, especially bugging out into what could be a tide of refugees, when bugging in could mean just a slower means to the end.
Brudegan@reddit
Bugging out like most preppers imagine it is imho an illusion. If you have to leave home you will be another refugee with just more stuff others could take from you which means even a daypack works as a "free stuff" sign yet alone one of these 30kg backpacks to "restart civilization".
But unlike now where you can come to a some european countries and have more rights than the natives there wont be a "Welcome to everyone" climate anymore and you will be hated by everyone. Especially UK, France and Germany are on the brink of civil war and local media doesnt mention anything about "incidents" happening.
LittleUrbanPrepper@reddit
Awesome. Not German but I joined to support. Local prepper subreddits should exist and for the same reasons you gave, I've also created r/indianpreppers . Tools, resources, laws and many other things vary a lot country by country.
I hope mods will add our subreddits to sidebar or related section.
wasn't r/GermanPreppers available ?
The_Tz@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the support

I feel like it is easier to make something new than revive something dead.
