Didn't come here to be told that I shouldn't care that someone damaged my car, old chap. If you're annoyed that someone doesn't like the fact that their car is damaged and wants to fix it - I think you're the one with the mental health problems, so you should probably tap out of this one and get your own head sorted. Hope you feel better soon

Tbh I wouldn’t have insurance fix it. I would put a dot of touch up paint to prevent rust developing and leave it as it is. You can get it fixed yourself but tbh it will cost more than you would lose on resale.

How easy would it be to pull out? Not planning on selling the car in the next 3 years.

It would need the inside of the interior taking out then Knocking from the inside as it’s on the crease it’s more difficult. You could pull it but it won’t be fully ok. It’s not massively noticeable. Obviously it is to you as you know it’s there etc.

Yeah, I'm just gonna see it every time I look, lol. Thanks for advice I will ask around the local repair shops.

On a crease then that’s a body shop rather than a “dent and ding” fix.

Yeah I'm not claiming, I just notified insurance in case he did the same. It was his fault which is why he drove off. Just wondering how easy it is to fix, not planning on selling 👍

Trouble there is you’ve notified them of an accident so you’ll have to declare that when you renew, it’s on your file now. You did the right thing and went by the law though.

Yeah didn't have much choice unfortunately because if he got my details I didn't want him claiming against me. By notifying them first and declaring him at fault it means I can't get in trouble for leaving the scene of an accident, in the event he pulls that card even though he was the one who fled. Hopefully there'll be no claim so it shouldn't affect my premium too much, I pay to protect ten years + no claims anyway
