Where is the worst place in the UK accessible from London that I can send my friend for a beer?

I'm from Sheerness, been here 50+ years. Every year it gets more depressing. For decades, our council has been based in Sittingbourne, and it has always seemed that other areas in Swale get a bigger portion of the pot spent on them. Our schools have got worse, big industry has shut down. At one point a couple of years ago, our patient to Dr ratio, was the highest in the country at over 3000, double that UK average. The council has cut back spending on everything. The amount of weeds growing on paths and alleyways, is horrendous. If the area looks bad, people treat it bad. Over the past 20 years, we have had a very high intake of Eastern Europeans, which is not a bad thing (I work with a lot of then and they are fine) except that - supply and demand - rents have gone through the roof. Renters seem to frequently move and usually just fly tip all their crap in the alleys. So not only are the alleys full of weeds, which hides the dog shit, but they are constantly full of fly tipping. The past 5 years a lot of new houses have been built at other areas on the island, funded or brought by London borough councils. So now we are an placement for London's problem tenants. We 2 very dodgy landlords who between them have 100+ properties. The brother of one of them, is a director of a London based charity, that helps to find homes for homeless people. Furthering our influx of London's problems and further reducing the number of rentable places (pushing rents up further). Over the past 5 years, anti social crimes have gone up, people can't seem to get a grip with then the council rubbish collections are and just leave all there bags out all week. The illegal immigration crisis is hitting Kent County Council hard, as we are the main entrance to the country, so local councils are getting less from them. Schools are struggling, not only with funding, but also with a shortage of teachers and an ever increasing number of children, whose first language is not English. Sheerness did get a £20 Million levelling up grant, from the government, but it seems to have gone on two main projects, the local college has been extended, as has the local sports centre (which not many people use). Finally, our one good spot, our beach, seems to have been hit by coastal erosion. It has dropped by 9-12 inches. "Who stole all our sand?"
