Anyone here own the Superhuman Babymaker 2?

So I got one a few months ago and its my first time owning an ebike and I have a few comments.
First I'll say I really don't like the wheel/tire combo. The tires (700 x 28c) are too skinny and low profile to handle any big road divots or small twigs without freaking out about blowing a tire, which did happen on my second ride. This bike doesn't need race style wheels with aero sidewalls, it needs something with a wider tire for all around usage. Sure it looks cool with this style wheel but its not for every type of rider.
Second the rear bounces like a crazy person over every bump, Im guessing this is happening because the motor is in the rear hub and all the weight is making it react like that while the front of the bike is lighter. Ive had an old road bike for years and it takes the bumps much better,,,,probably because it has a civilized wheel/tire setup.
As for the good the weight is really nice,35 lbs so its easy to lift in and out of my car and hang it up in my garage. Also the ride is very smooth and kicks in right away . With no throttle, it feels like a real bike with an extra little push. The speed level goes up to 5 but I mostly leave it on 1. On the 5 setting it helps on steep hills buy in my opinion it kinda doesnt seem any different in setting #3.
I did get better tires after the blow out (Continental Gatorskins) and have had good luck with them so far. When I was riding with the stock tires at company suggested 80 PSI, they looked almost flat which couldve been one of the reasons for the blowout but ive upped the air to 90 now which could maybe have something to do with the rear bouncing but its better than riding with a bug bulge but I dont even weigh that much so its kinda ridiculous that it looks the way it does while riding.
So anyways, does anyone else here have one of these and whats your opinion on it?

This thread is super helpful. I've been eyeing this bike because I like the stealth design, But, I'm concerned about the non-replaceable battery but hadn't thought about the tires.
As an alternative, I'm looking at Ride1Up's Roadster V3. It's very similar except it has a replaceable battery, and the tires are 45mm vs 28mm.
Interestingly, both companies are based in San Diego, where I live, so I can check them out.

The BM2 has a replaceable battery, it's just not as quick process

What a name to call an ebike.
AwesomeAndy@reddit
I would straight up never consider this just based on the name

Why is everyone so fragile lately? I dont care if it was called the satan worshipper, Id still ride it cuz its super light and doesnt look like an ebike.

exactly my thoughts, what's happening to people

Hello! I have a Babymaker II and I have been meaning to change out the tires for something more durable. I'm also a "bigger dude" so I imagine my weight has a lot to do with it. I'll have to look into the Gatorskins. When my tires are looking a little "flat," I think it's due to my weight lol.
Overall, I like the bike. I mostly use it for commuting from train to work (quick 5-10min ride). The speed levels definitely help on the hills and overpasses, especially when fully braked. it's also a nice ride at the beach on windy days.
I saw someone mention the battery, and it seems like as long as you're treating it like a "normal" battery, it should last a while. I have had my bike for 4 years now and haven't noticed much of a change in battery life. There is a "how to" video for replacing/swapping batteries on youtube. It seems a tad finicky, but it can be done.
I'd say it was a little more expensive in comparison to other E's, but it is a sleek little machine that gives me all the looks, or no looks at all.

Still a fan of the Babymaker II? Can't seem to find much feedback on it anywhere so replying to this old thread lol
Inevitable_Diligent@reddit
Yes, definitely still a fan. The few long rides I've taken at the beach are great, even when the wind is pushing against me. Speed 5 does what it needs to do. I'd imagine it does even better for a smaller person.
I think the people who bought it thought, "ooooh this is sleek in comparison to the other E's out there...." then didn't really ride as often as they thought lol.
Worth the money (brand new)? Probably not. Worth a good deal from someone who "didn't really ride that often (check the milage on the counter)? Yes. I'll ride this baby til it dies for the sleekness alone.

I bought one recently and have only done a few trips with it. Even coming from other ebikes with no suspension and skinny ish tires, the ride on the BM2 is very rough, there are some roads that I ride onto dangerous especially with the skinny tires. The bike feels jittery on PAS modes 2+ . Im in the process of trying to return the bike now, and the customer support is slow, and apparently there is a 25% "restocking fee" for returns, even though I saw no mention of it on their website return policy.

I'm glad someone else mentioned how hard the ride is. My other bike is a 90's Specialized converted to a road bike and that thing takes bumps 100% better than this brand new ebike 😃

> rear bounces like a crazy person over every bump
> 80 PSI
I think I know why... also the name is completely crazy.
Protip - go low for a change. I'll just say I'm happy with my 24 psi rear and 22 psi front. Obviously those are 58mm wide tires but still I'd go for 40psi max on skinny ones.
Comfortable-Dog-8437@reddit (OP)
Thats the problem, if I went wider it would rub so Im stuck with this current size. The tires look flat at 80 PSI if I went to 24 Id be riding on the rim 😃
InvestigatorSenior@reddit
it can't fit even 5mm more? From photos it looks like at least rear has plenty of clearance. Each 5mm wider is a bigger balloon that gives you larger cushion and allows for 5-10 psi less. Also 5mm in spec is not full 5mm more sitting on a skinny rim like this. Another hack would be to go for wider rims but I know wheel building is expensive so probably that's not economical.

What type of name is that...

I'm pretty sure some of these Chinese Companies just pick words out of a chinese to english dictionary and sometimes the literal translations don't really work out so great...

The company is actually based out of San Diego.

get a good quality suspension seat post like cane creek thudbuster, those made a huge difference in ride comfort on our hardtail mtbs.
