What is your prediction of the Mansour Ojjeh McLaren F1 sale?
Although the entire collection may end up being sold together; hypothetically, what figure would you expect the McLaren F1 alone to bring?

I think 35-45. The last one was 2021 at 20m and the world has changed a lot. If f40s are 3m plus now, a very special F1 should double 2021

That’s crazy id take the F40 and keep the rest of the money. But then im also not a billionaire.

I could see $35,000,000. Last built, incredibly low mileage, history and provenance….

egowritingcheques@reddit

I wouldn't be shocked to see $50m. We're living in times where the very richest are getting rapidly richer. $50m for the highest status drivable car is almost reasonable.

It’s also a drop in the bucket if you’re worth a billion, let alone several billions.
View on Reddit #64622058

Dyslexicpig@reddit

Yup. To put it in perspective, this would be like spending $50 when you have thousands in your bank account. People don't grasp the incredible gulf between being a millionaire and being a billionaire. I am a millionaire even though a good chunk is tied up in property, and so are many other property owners. And we definitely ain't going to be buying up McLarens.

A Canadian with a net worth of $1,000,000 buying a $72,000 new car. The same buying power for a billionaire is $72,000,000. Many have billions, so multiply that number as needed. The wealth gap is absolutely massive. Like the Boeing CEO having a compensation package that pays him nearly the same as their highest paid employee every single working day of the year.

\>The wealth gap is absolutely massive. yeah duh that's why there are only 3k billionaires, it's not like there are a lot of them

> It’s also a drop in the bucket if you’re worth a billion, I don't think 1/20 of your worth is a 'drop in the bucket.' You'd have to be worth several billion for this not to be a major purchase.

HLef@reddit

When you deal in absolutes, it is. Cost of living does not scale with wealth. Before you buy that car, you weren’t worried about money. After, you still aren’t.
View on Reddit #64659649

wtf-m8@reddit

> Cost of living does not scale with wealth. I guess you're right, that's why I'm buying 300 million dollar mansions now on my 65k income.
View on Reddit #64659840

HLef@reddit

That’s lifestyle not cost of living. The one house costs the same regardless of how much you have.
View on Reddit #64660466

wtf-m8@reddit

You said a 50 million dollar car would be a drop in the bucket for someone with a billion dollars. If only 20 'drops' would exhaust that entire bucket, it suddenly doesn't seem so insignificant, does it? That was my only point.
View on Reddit #64667819

Blaizefed@reddit

A billion is a thousand millions, not a hundred millions. 50 million is to a billion as 50 is to 100k
View on Reddit #64658080

wtf-m8@reddit

50 million is 1/20 of a billion are you trying to dispute that?
View on Reddit #64658371

Given the SP3 sale and then an F50 going for over 9m I can see it. At least in the 40s.
View on Reddit #64626628

The-Lot-Guy@reddit (OP)

Agreed. I could easily see it bring $50m.
View on Reddit #64622082

Alternative-Yak1316@reddit

Around $25-27m for the F1. There’s also the David Morrison Longtail GTR car that’s up for sale probably for about the same money.

30-35 I think, but I wouldn't have guessed a f50 for 9 or a SP3 for 26 so 🤷‍♂️

Mansour Ojjeh was basically a McLaren VVVVVIP, his company owned around 14% of the McLaren group and he was a huge part of the F1 team.
