Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro for 15km (One-way) Commute

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to get an e-bike for commuting. My commute is about 15 km each way. Most of the route is paved, but 1/3 of it is not in great condition (I’ve attached some Google images).
Would the Hybrid Reaction Pro be overkill for this, or is there another e-bike that would suit my needs better?
Thanks

Hi, I have a Hardtail pro 800. What rear mudguard is that please?

It looks rather flat. If that ebike has the CX Bosch 85Nm motor it might be overkill. This will come down to the complete terrain, total weight of you and any cargo and your fitness level.
Test ride the bike and use the assist levels and think how much you might use them.
The Cube Reaction Hybrid Performance 625 I saw on the same page had a lower torque motor (75Nm) and a larger 625Wh battery. The bigger battery will give longer range between charges and longer total lifespan.
Bikes like that have torque ranging from around 40Nm to 85Nm. I would test ride a few.

I have a Cube Nuride Hybrid Pro 500.
I guarantee the Reaction is not overkill because what you will find is that you will enjoy it so much that you will decide to take it out for more gravel and trails just for fun. I wish I had gone the Reaction now, instead of the hybrid because I didn’t realise how much my riding habits would change. I came from a road bike and had never been off road.
The Reaction has a Bosch motor and battery, which are very highly recommended by most and a Shimano group set, again one of the major players.
I started looking for the cheapest bike with those quality components here in Australia, and settled on the CUbe. Not sure what the market is like in your country.

I live in Germany, where Cube is based, and I’m lucky that there’s currently a huge discount on Cube bikes. I found a Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 800 for around €2100, but it was in size XXL. I also found a size Large for around €2400, but I’m still hesitating.

We haven’t got the 800 here yet. If price is an issue then why not look for new last year’s or the year before model with a smaller battery. . They may be cheaper. I have a 500 w/h battery and 30 km at maximum assist is doable, and you would only need that if it was uphill all the way, both ways.

Is It the cheapest option for a comute with the said conditions no probably not. But it is a fun ride, if you got the spare change I'm sure you will be happy. Consider tho that you might find a bike on sale with some better stats.

Thanks for the answer. I’m going to buy it through company leasing, so it will be about 30% cheaper. Do you have any models in mind that you would recommend?
